UPDATE: We have a winner! We’ll announce the lucky mama’s name this week (Sept. 14). Hope to see you at The Wedding Singer at WAC!

Some movies just get better with age. And if you’re a child of the 80s (or even if you’re not) the movie weddingsinger1.jpgThe Wedding Singer is definitely one of those comedy classics. The music in this movie is SO eighties but it’s SO good!

Now The Wedding Singer movie is transforming into a stage show at the Walton Arts Center, and we’ve got two tickets for one lucky mama for the night of Monday, September 28th at 7 p.m. The pair of tickets is valued at more than $60!

Before you see the show, you’ll have a great dinner courtesy of Bordinos, just steps away from the Walton Arts Center on Dickson Street. (Value bordinos21.jpg$50!) We’ve sent lots of our previous Great Date Giveaway winners to dinner at Bordinos and they always report back to us with rave reviews about both the food and the service. We also like that Bordinos’ atmosphere is very metropolitan and chic (without being stuffy). You’ll definitely get the feeling that you’re on a date and not at a fast-food joint with the kiddos. Click here or on the Bordinos logo to get a peek at their amazing menu.

wedding-singer-dvd.jpgBecause we’re such big fans of the movie, we’re going to give the winner of this Great Date Giveaway a copy of The Wedding Singer on DVD. You’ll have time to watch it before you see the theater production so you can truly appreciate how the cast brings the movie to life on stage.

If your sweetie can’t make it to the show on the 28th, this would also make a really fun Girls’ Night Out event with a friend or two or three!

HOW TO ENTER: If you’re already a big fan of The Wedding Singer, throw your name into the hat for this Great Date by clicking the word “comment” below and tell us your favorite part of the movie. (My vote is for the part when the little old lady taking singing lessons pays Robbie by putting a meatball in each hand.)

If you’ve never seen the movie but would love to snag the theater tickets, dinner and free DVD, then just tell us why you’d love a night on the town and we’ll put your name in the hat. Post a comment or send your e-mail to us at giveaways@nwaMotherlode.com.

As always, you can increase your odds of winning by letting your friends know about the giveaway and website. Just send them an e-mail and be sure to put giveaways@nwaMotherlode.com on the CC line so we can put your name in the hat again for every friend you tell.

ABOUT THE SHOW: The Wedding Singer is a new production of the Broadway hit, and it’s based on the 1998 movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. The movie revolves around a sweet love story but it’s also a tribute to all things 80s. The cast will kick off its national tour right here in Northwest Arkansas, so you’ll be the first to see the live show before anyone else in the nation!

For more info about the show or ticket availability for other show times, click here or call the Walton Arts Center box office at 479-443-5600. Good luck in the drawing! We’ll announce a winner at the end of the week!

  1. I love all of the movie but one of my favorite parts is ‘Your name’s gonna be Julia Goolia?’ With my wonderful out of town for 2.5 weeks and my at home with 2 little ones (4 months and 2 years) I could really use a girls’ night out!!!!

  2. I love the movie and thought it was hilarious! It’s been awhile since I’ve seen it, so I can’t think of my favorite part. I would love a chance to go see it and to go on a much overdue date with my husband.

  3. Oh I love this movie and the soundtrack is great too! My favorite part is the whole airplane seen at the end. This would be a great treat to go see!

  4. I would love to see this!! I haven’t seen it for a while so I can’t think of a favorite scene!!

    Thanks!

  5. My fave part is at the end in the airplane when Robbie sings Julia a song, but its also funny when her fiance gets up & the stewards keep him away from Robbie so he can finish the song. Its great! My hubby loves that movie too-one of his faves!

  6. I cannot think of my favorite part but since my husband and I eloped and didn’t have a wedding singer… I would love to see this live! We love the Walton Arts Center!

  7. I love when the keyboard player has to take over and sings the same song over and over!! Love it!!

  8. I love this movie!! Adam and Drew have mazing chemistry on screen. I wish they would do more together. My favorite part is when Robbie tells his girlfriend to get out of the Van Halen T-Shirt before she jinxes the band. As a huge Van Halen fan I thought that was hilarious! My husband would love this giveaway too!

  9. I absolutely love this movie and my husband is still obsessed with 80’s music. haha! My favorite part is at the end where he sings to Julia in the airplane. And, I LOVE Bordino’s. We’ve been wanting to go there on a date, so this would be perfect!

  10. I love that this movie always makes me laugh! I would love to go see this with my hubby and would love to eat at Bordino’s … YUM!!

  11. My favorite part is the kiss where they both realize they are in love – so sweet…and funny!

  12. Hmm, there are some many to choose from but I think I love it when the old lady starts rapping at her anniversary party.

  13. I LOVE this movie! So many favorite parts, but the one that sticks out to me at the moment is when they are auditioning the limo driver and they are unhappy with his performance and he replies, “They were cones!” Every time my husband and I see cones on the road, it is silent between us but we know what the other one is thinking and we laugh.

  14. It’s been a while since I’ve seen the movie, but would love an evening out with my hubby! (And, my b-day is in Sept. so that would be a great b-day present as well!)

  15. I think this was one of Adam Sandler’s funniest movies-So I would say my favorite was the whole movie- now to add to that my birthday is Oct 7th and I have forgotten what my husband looks like-let alone what a date is??????

  16. I love the guy that dresses like boy George but only knows one of his songs that he sings over & over. We have 3 boys under the age of 7 and are always in desperate need of grown-up time. This looks like lots of fun!

  17. It’s been awhile, but I laughed at the part where Adam Sandler sang “Love Stinks” while performing at a wedding.

  18. I love it when Robbie’s friend is auditioning to be Julia’s limo driver and Robbie says something like, “You hit two cones. Those could have been wedding guests,” and the guy says, “They were cones!!” I don’t know why exactly, but that always cracks me up.

  19. Love this funny movie! The music in this movie is awesome and I would love to see this play and have a night on the town with my husband!
