Mom photo shoot giveaway: Contemporary Glamour session with Marsha Foster

Contemporary Glamour Photography with Marsha Foster

“Every woman should have photographs of herself that she loves.”

Here’s a question for you: How many photographs do you have — of yourself — that you LOVE? We’re not talking about pictures you barely tolerate. We’re talking about the pictures you feel great about because they capture you at your best, looking happy and confident. Can you count them on one hand? Or one finger? Or maybe you can’t think of one?

If it has been a while since someone took a photo of you that you love, we want you to toss your name into the online hat for this week’s giveaway because it’s AWESOME and we wish we could win it for ourselves. Our friend Marsha Foster at Freedom Dreamer Photography donated this giveaway in honor of Mother’s Day. (She’s a fellow mama, and she specializes in making women feel beautiful.)

The winner of this giveaway will get a Contemporary Glamour session with Marsha in the Freedom Dreamer Photography studio in Rogers — a $400 value!

NOTE: You can either have photos taken by yourself, or, if you wish, like the ones shown here, or you can do a mother and daughter photo session, since Marsha’s work is all about celebrating women. (A three generation photo with your own mother, you and your daughter would be pretty amazing, too!)

Even though Marsha has built an amazing portfolio of boudoir photography, last year she began offering Contemporary Glamour sessions for those of us who love what she does but aren’t comfortable being photographed in lingerie.

We LOVE how elegant and timeless these photos are. They are the polar opposite of those crazy glamour shots you might remember from the 80s. (Yikes.) These are the photos your great, great grandkids will pull out of a photo album one day and say “Look at this. Isn’t she beautiful?”

Contemporary Glamour Session includes:

  • Pre-session consultation
  • Wardrobe guidance
  • Expert, professional hair and makeup styling including lashes for one
  • 1 to 1.5 hour photography session
  • In-person image reveal to select your favorite prints
  • Two high-resolution retouched digital images for download

Not only will you be happy that you did this for yourself, your husband, kids, and parents will also be thrilled to have beautiful, updated photos of you, too.

  1. Being the mom of 8 children and 16 grandchildren, I often put my own needs and wants to the side to give them a life of adventure and happiness. Sometimes it’s just help paying a bill. Sometimes it’s family outings to someplace that most of them can’t afford to go. Today’s struggle is real. With the single parent economy we live in, it’s tough to enjoy those activities. I feel my beauty and self esteem goes to the waste side trying to create a better life for the rest of them.

  2. My favorite picture is one that my son took of me. He had bitten into an apple and made a heart shape in it….he handed it to me and when I looked at it he snapped a picture. You can see my gratitude in my smile and eyes. That kid makes my heart swell and makes me laugh on a daily basis!

  3. I don’t have many photos of myself unless its a selfie cause I am always the one taking pictures. being a single mom, I love the pictures of my son and I that a candid that my friend can capture sometimes when we are with them.

  4. My favorite picture is one of me holding my son upside down in the air so our faces touch. Our looks show just how much love is possible in the world.

  5. I had a photo shoot of my boys last year and at the last minute the photographer asked me to get in one. It’s one of my favorites. I am always the one taking the picture and am never in any (like every mom out there!) so these would be great.

  6. I love photos with my children because you can see how genuinely happy they make me.

  7. My favorite picture of myself is from 6 years ago withme holding my youngest son.

  8. I have only had professional photos done once in my adult life, and it was just last year after our youngest was born. There is one picture of me, holding him up that I absolutely adore. I don’t particularly like the way I look, who does? But he is looking at me like I am the most important person in the world, like I’m worth something. It’s my favorite photo with me in it, ever, I think.

  9. My favorite picture is a black and white picture my boys and I had done a few years ago at Battlefield park.

  10. One of my favorites is my very first picture with my daughter when I got to see her for the first time after my c-section. It was love at first sight!

  11. My favorite picture is of me and my only child, Dustin, during his visit home from Afghanistan. I’m making a kissing face at him and he’s making a silly face up to the sky. It’s the perfect demonstration of our relationship and love for each other.

  12. I haven’t liked a photo of myself since my wedding. I take the pictures and stay out of them.

  15. Mine is of my whole family (my parents, sister and my son) while at the beach. We are all sooo happy to be together!

  20. The last photos I have of myself that I actually like are from my wedding day. I had a gorgeous bridal photo of myself but it was damaged when my house flooded and the restoration crew dropped the frame and broke it tearing the photo. Being a mom you are so busy making sure everyone else has what they need that you often fall to the bottom of your list. It would be nice to get dolled up and be the center of attention for a change.

  26. Our yearly family picture is usually one of the few I’m actually in over the year, so I look forward to it and appreciate them more than words can describe. I capture all of the wonderful moments my kids experience but I’m always behind the camera.

  27. My fave is the pics I try to do yearly with my daughter around our birthdays. We didn’t get to do them last year, so this would be such treat to do them this year!

  28. My favorite picture is of me hugging my 20 month old daughter right before she became a big sister and we became a family of four.

  29. At age 77 I haven’t had any great photos for some time but my favorite was made 25 years ago on my 52nd birthday when I was atop Sandia Peak in Albuquerque. It was night and a bright September moon shone through the blue-black sky and I looked almost young by the magical moonlight. Just a quick shot on a little Kodak camera created on of my all-time Mefavorite photos.

  30. The photos I love the best are candid photos and selfies where I am just being myself. I would love to have a photo taken of me and my older daughter together. She has had a rough year, and it would be a special memory of us making it through this year together. I know when she looks back on this time, she will see how much she has changed and grown.

  31. My favorite picture of myself is from my maternity shoot. It’s a full body profile with my belly showing. It was in the mountains at sunset. Every time I look at it I feel like a goddess.

  37. my favorite pictures are the ones where the joy in the moment is truly captured, which you can easily see in my eyes and smile. i tend to not be very photogenic so i dislike most pictures i’m in. but there are a few that i love when that joy is captured.

  38. My favorite picture is of me and both of my daughters sitting on a couch. It is several years old, but it depicts the joy I feel about motherhood. 41. My favorite is one we took last fall. We had just welcomed our 5th kid a few weeks prior, I signed up for this photo shoot but was unprepared. I was worried how they would come out. I was feeling thrilled about the way I looked, the 2 year old had fell asleep on the way there so he was grumpy and my oldest daughters hair fell out when we got there, my hubby was flustered. The photos ended up incredible and totally captured us. I looked like a proud mom of 5, the 2 year old and the baby were in tears but it captured my life.

  43. My favorite picture of myself is one from when I was younger. I had just started my first job and I took a picture in front of a lilac bush.

  44. The picture I love the most of myself is a picture that was taken at a Xmas party many years ago. My husband and I were dressed in formal attire and I remember how much fun we had that night. My smile was genuine and not forced. I’m turning 40 in a couple of months and would love the chance to take some gorgeous pictures!

  45. I love the first photos taken of me and each of my 3 babies! It may not have been the most glamorous but those 3mimwnts were epic!!!

  46. My favorite picture is with my son at our family Christmas dinner last year. I just snapped it with my cell phone. It’s a real-life picture of us just enjoying the evening. He’s 17, so I’m treasuring every day I have with him before he moves in to the adult season of his life. ❤️

  47. My favorite photo is of me and my mom baking banana bread together when she came from Colorado to Arkansas to help me move after a bad breakup. It’s just what my mind and heart needed, and my dad caught it on camera. I strive to be as kind hearted to my own two as my mom has been to us 5 kids.
