About The Man Who Planted Trees: Based on the beloved fable and book by Jean Giono, this play is a unique blend of comedy and puppetry that tells an inspiring ecologically oriented tale. This uplifting and unforgettable story shows us the difference one man (and his dog!) can make to the world. Produced by Puppet State Theatre Company of Edinburgh, Scotland.
About Butterfly Garden: Let your little ones virtually paint with their arms, compose lullabies with their feet and chase caterpillars on all fours. Follow the life of the butterfly (or “farfalle” in Italian) with one of Italy’s leading children’s theater companies in this virtual theater experience for the eyes, ears, knees and toes. TPO’s Farfalle production uses motion-capture technology and invites audience members to participate in the magical journey of the butterfly from cocoon to flower. Children are encouraged to interact with TPO’s amazing touch-sensitive carpet as it triggers images and sound. Best for ages 3-8.
Good luck, mamas!
My favorite memory is taking hikes with my family and discovering nerw trails. My son loves to look for signs of spring and nature and keep a list. It’s always a fun experience!
Well, we went to the Artosphere hike yesterday and now I have to say our favorite way to experience nature is at the Botanical Garden of the Oarks, especially in the Children’s Garden and the Chicken Coup.
Trails around Fayetteville.
Absolutely is the Botanical Garden. How wonderful we have this space! And Kosmos is fabulous! 🙂
We love Tanyard Creek in Bella Vista. We especially love walking up to the waterfall!
We have a lot of places we go and see nature, but the most wonderful place to go is home (my parents) farm as I have so many connections with the nature and growing up to share with my husband and kids. They think the “farm” is fantastic and ask to go all the time :o)
Our family’s favorite trail (currently) is Tanyard Creek in Bella Vista – long enough to be worth the drive, plenty of water and shade to cool everyone off, great suspension bridge, and an easy enough hike for the smaller ones (with shorter legs)to navigate it themselves!
Our favorite thing to do is just to go for a walk around our neighborhood. My daughter loves to walk to the library and just to play outside. Her favorite thing to do is to throw rocks at the trees.
Lake Fayetteville
We went to Devils Den last fall and walked around. It was a lot of fun. We will have to go back when my two daughters (2 and 5) are old enough to go on the hikes. They liked playing by the waterfalls. I would like to win this because my 5 year old starts Kindergarten next year and she is having anxiety issues right now. We need to do more family things with her before next fall.
We love Tanyard Creek in Bella Vista. Especially the waterfall. Its an easy trail for my 3 yr old
We love prairie grove battlefield park!
Our family spends several full weekends every year camping/hiking/fishing/playing at Devil’s Den.
My family has really enjoyed the Botanical Gardens the last couple months. My daughters love the Little Sprouts program and want to go everyday!
My family’s favorite place to experience nature is at Devils Den State Park. We always have a great time when we go hiking the trails and seeing new plants and creatures.
Fav spot here in NWA is Devil’s Den, wonderful hiking trails and park.
We love Tanyard Creek!
We love to just play outside at our house. We live in a cul-de-sac & it’s great for the kids!
Eureka springs is always wonderful to walk, and explore. But anyplace in AR is fantastic becuse it is soooooooooooobeautiful
We just moved here and LOVE all the biking and hiking trails!
We love the Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks. Not only are the gardens wonderful, but there is also a fantastic Farmer’s Market there on Sundays.
We enjoy so many things as a family, but one of our favorite places is Devil’s Den. We love to hike through the trails. We like to take our hiking sticks to walk with – we each have one our own size! Fun! We also love going to plays and love to eat, so we hope we win – this sounds awesome!
I love just sitting at the Wilson Park Castle to take in all the sights and sounds of my favorite busy park.
The bike trails are our favorite–HANDS DOWN!
We finally realized our dream of moving out of town and love our 5 acres.
My daughter and I have had the most fun exploring nature right in Gulley Park! In the fall, she loves to collect those giant horse apples that fall from the trees, and in the summers, we skip rocks and wade in the stream. My son is big enough now that he can start joining in on the fun, too :).
Beaver Lake takes the prze for our family!
There are many great places, we love the Botanical Gardens, War Eagle Caverns, Terra Studios or one of the many parks in the area!
Wilson Park, Terra Studios, Botanical Gardens; we love them all.
we love the botanical gardens and beaver lake. so much fun!
Beaver Lake, Botanical Gardens and my new one Compton Gardens!
Looking through our large window and watching the bird houses and feeders we have up. We keep binoculars out on the table, so that we can identify the beautiful birds that choose our yard.
We love the botanical gardens and the variety of fayetteville parks.
We live in Siloam Springs, so we’re just down the road from the campus of John Brown University. The creek that runs through town also runs on the edge of campus. There’s a spot that has trees grown over and the creek widens. We love to go out there with buckets and nets, to see what might turn up as we go “creekin'”!
Botanical gardens is our magical outdoor place especially during the Firefly Festival in the summer when all the fairys come out to play
Any trail that I can go mountain-biking on. But it’s been a long time since I’ve done that, with two kids, being a single mom, not much time, and their too young to take with. Pea Ridge and Lake Fayetteville were awesome last time I rode those trails…
I have so many it’s hard to choose but my top two would be the my sister’s land out towards Berryville and the Botanical Gardens. My sister lives on a gem of a spot and we love nothing more then to spend an afternoon playing and swimming in the creek. After spending Sunday at the Botanical Garden with Artosphere we are in love with it all over again. We have been going there on and off since they opened and they continue to amaze us with new things.
I just love that place.
Rachel
We love many great places… Devil’s Den Park, Tanyard Creek, etc. But my favorite is being outdoors at Botanical gardens… just beautiful.
Devil’s Den will always be my favorite place to get into nature. There are many beautiful places in Arkansas, but DD is where I first experienced the Ozarks and few things in the world rival the beauty of standing at the edge of a cliff on an October afternoon looking over the waves of fall colors.
I would have to say Devils Den is a great place. I have alot of great memories there! I also love Mark Twain National Forest. It’s so beautiful there!
I love going anywhere I can be with my family, weather it be the park, a walk down the street or just our own back yard, just as long as they are with me!
We just went to Devils Den! Had a blast with the family. We really enjoyed walking in the water fall and the creek. The kids also liked the park. When In laws come were going back!
We LOVE to canoe the Buffalo River- it is absolutely gorgeous!! When I look at nature, I am so thankful for our amazing creator- God Almighty!!
We just moved out to a house on the lake in Beaver Shores, it is so peaceful sitting on the deck watching the birds and squirrels. We’ve even seen a few deer. I am so happy to be surrounded by the trees and lots of room for the kids to play!
Thank you Mamas and WAC and Kosmos
My parents and grandparents have places on Spavinaw Creek, I LOVE going to the creek and watching nature there. Even just to drive around on the dirt roads around there is beautiful!! Having a ton of great childhood memories in the country makes it even more enjoyable.
One of your favorite spots to enjoy nature is NWA is Devil’s Den State park.
We love to camp at Prairie Creek in Rogers, and love a weekend getaway trip to my parents place, over in Lead Hill, AR. They have 17 acres, horses, dogs, oh and live directly across the highway from an authentic French castle that is being built by hand there (Ozark Medieval Fortress). Pretty neat!!
I love the botanical gardens and the bike trail that runs along beside it, beautiful and peaceful! I also love the beautiful mountain scenery that surrounds our beautiful city!
Best Place to Experience Nature? From the safety of the window by my kitchen sink. I like to watch the birds, rabbits, and squirrels in the yard as well as the wild kids from my own abode and the neighbor’s house romp about.
I love taking the kids to Devil’s Den or the Bentonville or Roger’s Farmer’s Market. However, we most often enjoy nature just walking around the neighborhood.
I really like the trail around Lake Fayetteville, but we haven’t been able to get out and enjoy NWA as much as I have wanted. Something, I plan to remedy. I have always loved just driving through NWA and looking around, so majestic.
