Mealtime Mama: {Easy} Homemade Popcorn Balls

mealtimemama-ONF

This time of year I start to crave my grandmother’s homemade popcorn balls.

They taste great and they’re super easy. It’s probably best not to use the microwave popcorn unless you buy plain. Have you ever tried to make your OWN microwave popcorn? If not, check out this recipe at Simple Bites using corn kernels, a little oil and a paper bag. Two easy steps.

If you’d rather pop your corn on the stovetop, but have never tried it before, click here to see a tutorial at Cookie+Kate. She even adds chocolate and chili powder in one of the recipes! No added chemicals that you don’t need.

Nannie’s Popcorn Balls

Ingredients:

Bag of marshmallows

3/4 stick of butter

Peanuts (or nut of your choice) optional

Homemade popcorn

How to make: Melt the butter on low heat and add marshmallows until all is a melted pot of yummy goo. Now add your homemade popcorn (and nuts) and form into balls. Place the popcorn balls onto waxed paper and allow to cool before eating.
