Emily Talley… COME ON DOWN! You’re the next winner of our “Great Date Giveaway”!

nobodies1.jpgEmily and her husband, who are expecting their first child in a matter of weeks, will be enjoying a great dinner at Bordinos this Saturday night, followed by a night of laughs at the stand-up comedy show, The Nobodies of Comedy, at the Walton Arts Center.

As you know, we always select our giveaway winners at random because it would just be too hard to pick a winner based on merit. If you ask us, ALL moms deserve a cool giveaway. But I think you’ll agree, after reading the comment Emily posted, that the random number that matched up to Emily’s name has really good timing. Here’s the comment she posted last week:

“So my funny story starts with the fact that I’m 8 months pregnant with my first child and just got laid off from a great job last Monday! Haha right!? Well let me rewind and explain in detail how last Monday was one of the craziest days of my life.

It all started out like a normal Monday morning, birds were chirping, flowers blooming and then bam! I get to work and am called into the human resources office and am told that the company is downsizing and they have to let me go! Naturally I’m devastated and panic rushes in as I think about how expensive Cobra is and how I’m supposed to give birth to my baby in 1 month with possibly no insurance and definitely no job to return to.

I called my husband and he calmed me down immediately. Everything was going to be fine, don’t stress because it’s bad for the baby, yada yada. Ok one crisis I can deal with.

In the mean time I noticed that I had missed 4 calls from my Father who is still coping with the transition of being a widower. I return his call and find out that he’s decided to take his relationship with his e-Harmony love interest to the next level. The crazy man proposed to this woman and she accepted!!!

At this point my heads spinning and I desperately need a back rub and a bubble bath. I know right, not exactly a “funny” story but someday I hope to be laughing about it!”

bordinos21.jpgApparently, she was having one of those days that was “so bad you either laugh or cry,” and she wisely chose to laugh about it. Emily, congrats on your baby and your big win! We’ve sent you an e-mail with our number, so call us and we’ll fill you in on how to get your tickets and Bordinos gift card.

If you didn’t win the tickets, don’t let that stop you from having a much-deserved date night. You can still buy tickets to the show by clicking HERE to go the Walton Arts Center website or by calling the box office at 479-443-5600. I just bought a pair of tickets for me and my husband, and we can’t wait to see the show. Hope we see you there!
