Giveaway: Win tickets to “The Lightning Thief” at Walton Arts Center

Oh wow, our teenagers can’t wait for this show! It’s going to be so GOOD.

And happy day, we’re giving away 4 FREE tickets to this best-selling book turned Broadway musical. The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical will open on Jan. 4th and Northwest Arkansas audiences will be the first to see this new musical on tour. How cool is that??

Yep, after a sold-out engagement in New York City, the company will rehearse and present their first public tour performances of the tour right here at Walton Arts Center!

We’re thinking tickets to this show would make a GREAT Christmas gift.

The musical begins with a loud thunder clap, then five performers move to the front of the stage, singing to punchy rock music. It’s a perfect beginning to this clever, hip and irreverent musical, which merges teenage angst with Greek mythology.

This wild ride features not only gods, but mythological monsters. The set has a rock concert vibe, with scaffolding and the stage magic is frequently visible to the audience.

This “winning adaptation” (The Hollywood Reporter) of the best-selling novel by Rick Riordan, The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical is “electrifying!” (Newsday).

In this story, the Greek gods are real, and they’re ruining Percy Jackson’s life. As a son of Poseidon, Percy has newly discovered powers he can’t control, monsters on his trail, and is on an epic quest to find Zeus’ lightning bolt to prevent a war between the gods. Nominated for three Drama Desk Awards including Best Musical, The Lightning Thief is “mesmerizing” and proves “lightning can strike twice!” (TheaterMania).

Not recommended for ages 6 and under.
