Beauty Buzz: How would you look as a redhead?

By Andi Douglas, nwaMotherlode.com beauty editor

Now that the snow is melting and the kids are back in school, you may actually have a little free time on your hands. Whatever will you do when you don’t have to spend 20 minutes weather-proofing a kid who immediately has to go to the bathroom?

Well, look no further, I have discovered the perfect makeover website to suck up your time!

Upload your photo to www.taaz.com, or use one of the models they provide, to test out red hair before you impulse dye at the salon. What propelled this program to the top of my favorites list are the makeup options. Like most makeover sites, a wheel of colors is provided, but Taaz goes further by providing an actual product to the color you like.

Also, you can choose a price range so you don’t end up in love with a $60 blush you will never buy. For example, I chose the $0-10 range for blush in the pinks and found Plumberry Glow by Covergirl, a shade I probably would not have even noticed at the store. For my lips, I went up in price to the $10-20 range because lipstick doesn’t shatter into a million pieces when you drop it, and found Paula Dorf Lipcolor Sheer Tint with SPF 15 in Rhythm.

One tip before taking your picture: go ahead and put on your mascara, because the lashes were a little scary looking, and don’t forget to pull your hair all the way back if you want to try hairstyles. Use the models as a guide…there is no way those girls have on no makeup!
