What We’re Reading: The Paris Apartment

Need a great book to either read or listen to on Audible as you’re on the road (or in the skies) this week for Spring Break? We’ve got one! And if you love a good plot twisty novel that keeps you guessing, you’ll love this one. This author does NOT disappoint.

The book isĀ The Paris Apartment, by Lucy Foley. (She’s best known for her bestsellers The Guest List and The Hunting Party. I read both of those and thought they were great, too.)

If you like audiobooks, I’d definitely recommend listening to The Paris Apartment, like my husband and I did. There are different voices for chapters told by different characters, which makes it easy to keep up who’s talking and when. The narration is SO good, and it’s fun to hear the accents since there are main characters who are French, English and possibly Russian, too.

What’s it about?

Since this is a suspenseful drama with plenty of mystery, I won’t say too much about the plot since I don’t want to spoil anything for you. But the basic thing to know is that this is about a woman named Jess who arrives in Paris to visit her brother, Ben, who is expecting her arrival. But when she gets there, Ben has vanished. And his odd neighbors don’t seem to want her in his apartment building. And she has a strong feeling that something is very… off… and possibly dangerous about what might have happened to her journalist brother.

Heads-up: There are two or three R-rated scenes in this book, so keep that in mind if you’re listening to it in a car with kids.

Hope you like figuring out this twisty mystery as much as I did! Happy reading (or listening)! Click here to read more reviews of The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley.
