Mamas, the The Spark Cafe in downtown Bentonville, has made us an offer we can’t refuse: FREE ice cream!
The Spark Cafe is an old-fashioned soda fountain which delicious ice cream, treats and drinks. It’s part of the Walmart Musuem, one of our new sponsors.
The Cafe is a tribute to Sam Walton’s love of ice cream. The café serves Yarnell’s, a family brand made in Searcy, Arkansas. When you visit, you’ll notice a flavor in the scooping bin that looks VERY Walmart: Spark Cream! Custom-made for customers of the Spark Café, it’s a rich, flavorful ice cream in Walmart colors of blue and yellow. Ask for a taste of Spark Cream or any of the nine other flavors. (Here’s a peek at The Spark Cafe menu.)
Before or after your ice cream break, you also need to visit the Walton 5&10 store. The shop still stocks many of the items that might have been available in Sam Walton’s first general store, so you’ll find old-timey toys and candy (perfect for under the tree or in stockings this Christmas).
If you have family in town for Christmas, this would be a great outing. Santa will be visiting The Walmart Museum on the dates below in December. It’s free to the public and you can bring your camera to get fun photos with Santa. St. Nick will be there:
- Thursday 12/6 from 5pm to 8pm
- Monday 12/10 from 5pm to 8pm
- Saturday 12/22 from 9am to 1pm
