Join local moms in donating your “extra” baby stuff to Loving Choices

At nwaMotherlode, we are so impressed with the amazing work of the local non-profit, Loving Choices.

Loving Choices offers free and confidential services for: pregnancy testing, STD testing, options counseling, limited ultrasound, adoption planning, post abortion support, and lots and lots of information. They have two locations, Rogers and Fayetteville.

This organization primarily helps young girls who are pregnant and need help deciding how to handle the situation. They even offer support after the baby is born. One of the cool things they do is offer “Mommy Bucks” to the girls for doing things like taking parenting classes in the Earn While You Learn program. The mom bucks can be spent in the “Mommy Boutique” on items for pregnancy or for the baby such as baby clothes, diapers, maternity clothes and other items.

A local mama of two, Rosemary Rincon, has made it her mission to support Loving Choices and she recently learned that they need bigger items like strollers and car seats to really help these girls out. So she has been collecting items on their behalf in the community and through her friends in the MOMS Club of Fayetteville.

For the rest of the month Rosemary is reaching out to other moms across Northwest Arkansas who might have “big” items in their garages, closets or in storage that they might be willing to donate to this organization.

“They are in need of big items, such as high chairs, pack and plays, changing tables, swings, cribs (no drop down), strollers. Only the car seats have to be new, everything else can be used,” Rosemary said. “I feel like it’s a great way for that mom who has these items left over at home from children, who need a place to donate them to. Or if a mom sees a great deal at a store or garage sale and wants to buy it to donate, that is great also!”

Rosemary said donations can be taken directly to Loving Choices. There are two locations. Click HERE to get directions and phone numbers. OR you can email Rosemary and she can come get the items from you if that is easier. Her email is smiles2085{at}aol.com.

Your “extra” items will be a huge blessing to these young girls who often have no support at home or the money to buy these things on their own. It would be a wonderful gift to offer these brand new moms during this month of Mother’s Day!
