Bisoxual: Because no one should have boring sox

Bisoxual mismatched socks for women, men and kids — a Northwest Arkansas-based company

If you have holiday shopping to do for people that have feet, you’ve come to the right place. Bisoxual – yes, bisoxual – has two NWA Boutique Show tickets and a $30 gift card to their booth to give away. But first…what is Bisoxual?

Let’s talk.

Like most of you know, losing someone is hard. Death is never an easy thing to understand. The emotions surrounding losing a person dear to you are difficult to navigate. There’s no guidebook to tell you what to say, how to feel, and how to live your life with a hole in it.

A little over a year ago, I lost my best friend. Losing a person who “got” you and that you talked with every day has been more difficult than I could ever imagine. I can tell you one thing about grief – it sucks.

You have to know the above information to get why I started a sock company called Bisoxual. That sounds weird, but it’s totally true. I wanted to do something to honor my friend, but I wasn’t sure exactly how to do that.

So, obviously, the answer was mismatched socks.

I always wear mismatched socks. Who has time to match socks?? It’s just not something that’s important to me. I have other things to do. Other fires to put out. Other things to spend mental energy on.

Anyway, I took my shoes off at work one day and, of course, my mismatched socks were there for all the world to see. My co-worker, Kevin, noticed and said something along the lines of “You sure are bisoxual today.”

I LOVED that description! I immediately ran to my computer, fired up GoDaddy.com, and bought all the domains I could think of with the word bisoxual. I had no ideas, no nothing. I just really liked that and I was sure we could do something with it.

As we brainstormed, an idea slowly started forming. We knew it would involve mismatched socks and some way to honor my best friend. What was the connection between the two? How could we make this a cohesive idea that people would understand and get behind?

My friend had a cause that was dear to her heart and that was domestic violence victims. She was a nurse and had patients come in that were in horrible situations. It was not something she could just go home and forget. I also have that same passion. How can one person do that to another? It’s a frightening thing to realize that some people are just evil.

When a domestic violence victim finally gets the courage to leave their abuser, they may only have time to grab what’s on the floor around them. That may be mismatched socks. And there’s no shame in mismatched socks. Those socks were a sign of incredible strength in a very difficult situation.

Because of this, Bisoxual gives back to domestic victims with every purchase.

We sell socks in mismatched sets of three. Three different socks means three different sock combinations for you to wear!

We get a lot of questions about the name and let me make it clear that it has nothing to do with sex. We are a SOCK company! You can either wear matched socks or unmatched socks. That choice is yours! We just want your support so we can help as many people as possible.

Also, they are really cute socks. ??‍♀️

Buy. Socks. Y’all.
