A Christmas card that’s an ornament, too!

card ornament collageIf you haven’t even had time to think about Christmas cards yet, you’re not alone. I am SO behind this year. Haven’t even ordered any yet. But I just saw this new idea online (along with a discount code) that is worth passing along to my fellow photo-loving mamas. Your Christmas card can actually be an ornament that’s ready to go on the tree. I love this idea!

I spotted it on the Shutterfly website, and there are tons of different designs/colors/shapes to choose from. They’re about 5 inches square (or round or snowflake shape) so that’s a decent size to hang on the tree. Some card ornament color designof them can even accommodate up to three different photos that you upload to the website. They also come with a ribbon so either you or your card recipient can attach it and then hang it.

Just a note… this unique card option does appear to be a little more pricey than others, but that might not be a problem if you’re not planning to order very many. And they definitely are more memorable and serve a dual function. (I haven’t ordered ornament cards from Shutterfly before, but I’ve used them countless times for other cards, photo books, etc., and I’ve always been happy with the quality.)

There’s a discount code that you can use today (before midnight on Dec. 3rd) and it will give you a minimum of 30 percent off your order. The code is CYBERSAVE. Depending on how many ornament cards you want, it could even get you as much as half-off your order. And Shutterfly offers free shipping on orders of $49 or more (but you must remember to put the code SHIP49 in the promo box when you checkout.)

Remember that a square-shape requires a different envelope which can increase the postage a bit. But on the upside, look how cute the little holiday liners are that you can put into the envelopes. I’m loving that look.
