This clinic is known for adults and kids who need: Diagnosis and treatment of asthma, allergic rhinitis and other diseases of the upper and lower respiratory tract, drug and insect hypersensitivity, latex allergy, hives, allergic skin disease, recurrent infections, and congenital immunologic deficiencies.
What you might not know about this clinic: All the physicians at Hedberg Allergy & Asthma Center (shown above) are board-certified and fellowship-trained, and there are several reasons why that’s so important. While many doctors may treat allergies, a Board-Certified allergist has the intensive training patients want specialists to have. Allergists complete 4 years of medical school as well as an intensive residency training program in either internal medicine or pediatrics (or both).
They then go on to complete a 2, 3, or 4-year fellowship program in allergy and immunology, preparing them to diagnose and treat allergies of all kinds, diagnose and manage asthma, prepare and manage allergy shots, diagnose and manage immunodeficiencies, as well as other conditions. Hedberg Allergy & Asthma is the only group of fellowship-trained allergists in Northwest Arkansas.
No other type of doctor receives this same level of specialized training in these areas. Allergists must also take and pass a rigorous board examination to become board-certified, and they must complete specific activities each year to maintain certification. (They also retake the board examination periodically.) Only the doctors who are current with maintaining certification can call themselves “board-certified.” Click here to see the qualifications of all the Board-Certified Allergists/Immunologists at Hedberg.
Testimonials from two local women:
“Very friendly staff. My daughter loves Dr Hedberg. He always takes the time to listen to not only me, but my daughter as well. When she felt a little scared he took the time to just sit with her to talk. He even showed her a video of a pink dolphin…which she loved! Our nurse Julie is always awesome too! She interacts with my daughter, plays games, and explains all the procedures well. Thanks Hedberg Allergy!” — Mandy Taylor
“Dr. Hedberg is what every doctor should be. Takes time to listen. Kind, caring, digs deeper to find the cause of something, not just treat a symptom. Goes above and beyond. He follows me for an autoimmune disorder that I don’t think anyone else would have taken the time to discover. His staff is excellent as well.” — B. Gail Edmonson
“Dr. Jenny Campbell will always be the hero in our book. My sweet little boy had an immune deficiency at age 2 that no one else was able to figure out. Constant upper respiratory infections, asthma, pneumonia. She saved his life and he is now 10 years old and happy/healthy.” — Wendy Parker
“I made an appointment with Dr. Wejinya hoping she might have some ideas. Not only did she and her nurse listen and address all of my concerns, they educated me on what was happening within my body, tested for common allergies, and developed a treatment plan that has totally eliminated my hive outbreaks. Dr. Wejinya and her staff gave me my life back. I can’t say enough great things about this office.” — Danielle Stoddard
“We had a wonderful experience with Dr. Bell, who took lots of time to really understand what’s going on with my 5 month old son. He also explained everything very well to me.” — Leslie Nice
