The American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Cancer 5k Walk will be at the Northwest Arkansas Mall in Fayetteville on Saturday, Oct. 20.
Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the walk begins at 7:30am.
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is more than just the name of a walk; it is as unique and special as the stories that motivate our dedicated walkers, donors and volunteers. It is a powerful and inspiring event that celebrates people who have battled breast cancer, educates people about ways to reduce their risk and empowers communities to join the fight. Each step we take is personal and each donation helps save lives.
This year, more people than ever will survive cancer and fewer will hear the words “you have cancer.” Although we have made tremendous strides, in Arkansas alone more than 3,290 women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer this year and 580 women will die.
Cancer is a disease that affects almost every person in every community in some way. But for those who are suffering right now and for those who may be diagnosed in the future, there is more hope now than ever before.
