“Mom & Me” Giveaway: Tacos and Tickets to ScrapArtsMusic

There was a huge response to last month’s “Mom & Me Giveaway,” so we’re doing it again – this time with four tickets to a very cool show called ScrapArtsMusic. The show will be held at 7 p.m. on October 19th at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville. Enter our online drawing by posting a comment on this site or send us an e-mail at mamas@nwaMotherlode.com with the words “ticket giveaway” in the subject line.

Some people have compared ScrapArts to the well-known show Stomp. It’s based around five high-energy percussion musicians who play instruments crafted from salvaged and recycled junk. They’ve made more than 100 one-of-a-kind instruments that are as visually amazing as their music is riveting. The show is full of energetic music including jazz and street performance, but your kids will really love the athletic fast-paced choreography that goes along with it.

We Motherlode mamas already have our tickets and will be there with four kiddos sitting between us. We’d love to have one of our readers sitting nearby, enjoying the show with her own music-loving munchkins.

joseslogo.gifOf course, we can’t send you to a show on an empty stomach, so once again we’ll be sending the winning Mom and her crew to the legendary Jose’s Mexican Restaurant, just a few steps away from the Walton Arts Center on Dickson Street. Jose’s is super kid-friendly, so you’ll feel right at home.

So you think your kids might like some cheese dip, chips, tacos and five energetic, colorful guys beating on crazy-looking drums? Heck, even your husband could get into a show like this. All you need to do to enter is post a comment here or send an e-mail, so be sure to get your name in the online hat now because we’ll draw a winning name on Thursday at 6 p.m. and announce the winner on Friday. Good luck!

  1. Oh my gosh! We would love to win these tickets. My five year old is a little musician already and loves anything having to do with drums (he has his own drum set). We have even had to establish a no drumming policy at the table! What a great gift!
