Mamas, I have a long track record as a plant-killer. I didn’t mean to hurt any of them, but I was lousy at remembering to water them or figure out how much light they needed. BUT… I’ve turned over a new leaf. (Yep… I did it.)
I did some research to figure out what types of plants would be best for people like me who need a low-maintenance plant. I started with two different types — the ZZ plant and the Snake plant — and those did so well that now I’ve moved on to a Prayer plant. So far so good! They’re all still alive! And there’s no denying that a real houseplant adds a certain warmth and vibrancy to any room.
If you’re looking for a list of plants that are fairly easy to care for and don’t require a ton of natural light, here’s a great plant resource we found on The Pioneer Woman website. I especially love the Prayer plant because it’s leaves look like they’ve been intricately painted, and they move together and upward (like praying hands) at the end of the day.
Hope this list helps you find a plant you love!
