Mamas, we know this year’s Halloween activities in Northwest Arkansas are SO much trickier because of COVID. We all have different levels of risk we’re willing to tolerate. And many families have someone in their “bubble” who is in a high-risk group or has an immune system issue, so we’re being extra careful in order to protect the people we love. Other families are going ahead with traditions but are taking extra steps to keep everyone healthy.
If you and your kids are going trick-or-treating this year, there are ways to lower the risk. We found this great article on the Good Housekeeping website which is full of tips on what to avoid and how to minimize the risks of traditional Halloween activities. In this article, you’ll find advice from a virologist and a researcher on topics including the following:
Trick-or-treating in close contact with people outside your home
Do you need to disinfect your kids’ candy wrappers?
Consider your area’s level of community spread before making decisions on activities.
Degree of risk for certain Halloween activities, according to the CDC website
