Happy Birthday, Motherlode! Today marks the first anniversary of Northwest Arkansas’ own website just for moms. It seems like just yesterday that we were announcing the arrival of our new “baby” on May 1, 2008 — 3.2 megabytes and 20 1/2 pages long — and inviting everyone out to our Embassy Suites launch party for a chocolate buffet bar and door prizes.
Now more than 100 pages deep, nwaMotherlode.com has really grown – in content and in visitors! We’ve added a variety of new categories, had tons of cool giveaways and published stories of all stripes to inform and entertain Northwest Arkansas moms.
Since it’s been a full year, we’ve been doing a little redecorating. Have you noticed our new wallpaper? We love the new orange trees in the background. Do you? We want to make a few more tweaks, but we need your help. Consider your thoughts a birthday gift to us.

My one year birthday is coming up this month as well. Of being an Arkansan! Finding Motherlode is one of the best things that has happened to me. I was nervous about moving away from my family after 34 years in the same town, and because of Motherlode, I have made wonderful new friends and learned useful things about my community. This website is a valuable resource for all moms! I hope the second year is even better than the first!

I have really enjoyed Motherlode and have referred many friends here :). I was wondering about quick, easy but still homemade (or semi-homemade) meals? Oh, and maybe healthy, too…. lol!! Maybe seasonal? Like… grilling chicken/veggie kbobs, etc…I don’t know. 🙂 Just a suggestion!! Thanks for a great year!
