Mamas, we’ve got such a fun giveaway starting today!
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks will transform into a magical fairyland for the extremely popular 2017 Firefly Fling event on Saturday, July 15, and we’ve got a FREE family 4-pack for one Northwest Arkansas mama to win! Your kids will be SO.EXCITED.
ABOUT THE FIREFLY FLING: From 6-10 p.m., local groups will have dozens of fun activities for children and adults; including fairy house building, photo booths, an obstacle course, giant bubbles, nature stations and more.
The garden will come alive with live music and tales from storytellers, and after dark there will be glowing games, glow-in-the-dark performances and fire dancing.
This year, the Firefly Shoppe will have more fairy wings, wands, glow sticks and other festival items for sale than ever before. Bring a little cash so that you build a fairy costume and even decorate your own fairy wings.
At the gate admission will be $15/adults, $5/children 3 to 13, and children under 3 are free. Tickets may also be purchased in advance for $11/adults and $4/children at bgozarks.org. Online ticket sales will close at noon on Saturday, July 15th.
Picnics and blankets are welcome, or you can buy something from one of the food trucks at the event. No pets, please.

Ummm. Yeah! I’ve been talking about going to this event since our girl was born three years ago! Would love to take her, her 12 year old sister whom I never ended up taking when she was younger 🙁 and the hubby :). Crossing fingers!
My daughter and I went last year, and we loved all of the different activities they had for her to do. Her favorites were making a fairy house and the bubbles!!
Have never been but I love evening fairs, festivals & music performances in the summer especially. Can’t wait to see fire dancing

Went last year and loved how magically it was!. I took my nice and she loved every minute if it. The fire dancers were the best part.

My daughter, my granddaughters and I came down from KC last year when we found out about it from friends who live there locally. This is all new since my daughter graduated from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville. My granddaughters loved it and fell in love with the city. Couldn’t understand why we didn’t still live there. If it hadn’t been for my job which had brought me to the area and then back to KC I think we would still live there. This event was so much fun my daughters KC friends all want to come this year. Free tickets would help with the costs since we will also be paying for hotels and gas. Thanks.
Our family looks forward to the fling every year as a time to be outside together enjoying the beautiful gardens, the colorful and glittery outfits, and earthy crafts that celebrate all that is beautiful here in NWA. This is by far one of our families MOST favorite events.
I love watching the kids play all the different games and love watching their faces during the fireworks and other performances. They loved the fire dancing that was done one year! I was sad to find out they were too young to remember it now so I hope we can go this year!
We love the firefly fling! It’s such a fun family event – my sister and I bring our families and a couple picnic blankets. I love seeing all the kids dressed up and having so much fun together!
We have never been to this event but i know that my step daughter(7) and my granddaughter(2) would love this!!! It would be great to see them enjoying the activities. Especially the glow sticks and fire dancing. Making their own fairy costumes and wings would be so much fun!!!

My son, daughter-in-law, grandson and granddaughter have lived many hours away for several years, they have since moved back to the Northwest Arkansas area and I have enjoyed showing them the Ozarks, fishing, the lake and this would be another first for all of us. I remember catching fireflies when I was a little girl and I know we would have a great time.
Myself, my mother, my fiancé, & our daughter would be so excited to win free entry – we were excited last year but didn’t make it! My 2 year old daughter Isabella loves crafts, paining, & designing arts & crafts & I think she would be most excited to get to get to build a fairy house with her Daddy! And I am personally excited for the glow in the dark activities – it’s what summer is all about!
Our favorite thing is the overall magical aura that is built around the event. My daughter really does love it.

I love the Firefly Fling! I think my favorite part is just that it’s so kid-centric. Everything about it is just meant for kids to have fun and enjoy! I love the lantern release at the very end, but honestly the whole event is not to be missed.
I’m raising two of my grandchildren and things are always tough. We’ve never been to this event and when I read the description to them they were excited to hear the storytelling and watch the fire dancers.
Never been, but the glow in the dark performances sound neat!

My 7 yo son with autism is absolutely obsessed with bugs, especially fireflies! He is out hunting for them even now as I type this at 4 in the afternoon. We have never been to the firefly fling but I thin he would love going to an event built around his favorite bugs!
My daughter loves the music, and getting to dance around in her fairy wings! We got to see Tinker Bell once, and enjoyed and aerial artist, as well! So much fun for the whole family!

We are coming up from Hot Springs for our summer stay-cation, and the Firefly Fling is the main reason! I work at Garvan Gardens in HS, and I have heard excellent things about this event, and I know our 2 year old girl would love it.
I would love to take my grandson, granddaughter, and husband to this event since we have never been. It truly sounds like a magical time for all. What a fun way to spend time together!
We LOVE the fire dancers and concert at the end. The boys loved the bubbles do much we had to go out and buy the giant bubble sticks. They loved rock painting. Our youngest rubbed the painted wet rock all over his face. Lol. We brought glow Sticks and danced the night away!!
My oldest daughter and I attended last year and she has talked about it ever since. We loved everything about it but our most favorite things were the giant bubbles, the fire dancers, and she absolutely loved the crafts we made. Can’t wait to bring the rest of the family this year!!!
We moved here a year ago from Dallas and are amazed at all the amazing activities for families. We don’t have fireflies in Dallas so I would love to introduce my sweet girl to the childhood joys of catching these amazing creatures. She’s almost three so fairies and fireflies would just thrill her.

Oh My Gosh! My two youngest granddaughters would LOVE this! I have never heard of it and have never been to the Botanical Gardens yet. Looks like great fun and they will LOVE it!

Is it too late? I’ve never been. My family just got bigger and I’m looking for fun things to do with all the kids. It used to be just me and my son. Now there are 6 of us (so i’ll still need to buy 2 tickets) and finding fun things to do just got that much more involved. This would be a super fun “team building” experience and the free tickets would REALLY help. Lol
