All you folks who got Snuggies for the holidays will now have the chance to wear them on the streets of Fayetteville! Seriously. Wear your Snuggie (or maybe a cute robe worn backwards) to downtown Fayetteville on Friday (Jan. 22) to receive treats or discounts from many of the businesses around Dickson Street. Yep, it’s the “1st Annual Dickson Street Snuggie Crawl”.
Some businesses are offering specials all day Friday, while others are just participating from 5 p.m. to close. Click here to see a list of who’s involved and what goodies you can expect. A few examples are $5 off at Inscriptions all day, free Frisbees for kids at Hog Haus, 10 percent off food at Grub’s, $5 off certain shows at Walton Arts Center, U.S. Pizza discounts and about 10 more offers.
Fayetteville is not alone in hosting this somewhat unusual event. Brian Bailey of the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau says it’s a national phenomenon! I would link to some of the other state’s events, but a few of the participants are not wearing anything under their Snuggies. And there are pictures. But you can CLICK HERE to see the local Snuggie Crawl Facebook page. And HERE is the event page.
Moving on! So if you want to join the fun, head down to Dickson Street on Friday and be sure to wear your “blanket with sleeves”!
