Product spotlight: Check out this dog collar!

If your dog is a bit of an escape artist, this collar might be the perfect fit. I like the way the dog’s name and phone number is printed onto the collar itself so there’s no way to miss it. Sometimes those engraved tags that hang on a dog collar can get loose and fall off. (That has happened a couple of times with our dogs’ ID tag.) So this is a great solution.

You can order the one pictured above from the L.L. Bean catalog, and it’s available in lots of colors. Click here or on the photo to get more info from the catalog website. In its customer reviews, this product got four out of five stars. Cost is $18.95. Hope this helps keep your furry “babies” safe by helping them find their way home if they ever get lost.

  1. Those are nice, but our dogs pull so hard on their leashes, that the plastic buckles on the collars break (I know… obedience school would be a good idea). Anyway, because of this, we only use collars with metal buckles now. I found a metal engraved name tag that slides on to the collar, so it can’t fall off. They are great and look nice, too. I got ours from http://www.boomerangtags.com/. They’re called “Collar Tags.” 🙂

  2. This is the perfect collar for escape artists or dogs that loose their tags. However, I’d like to encourage Mamas, as I do all my clients, to put THEIR name on the collar or tags, not the dogs. That way, no one can steal your pet and call them by name. My dogs’ tags say “Help! Call my Mom. D. Holmes” plus my number. Notice that I also use my first intitial instead of full name and no address. There is no reason for strangers to know that I am a woman or where I live.
