The dogs days of summer are here, mamas. Happy August! We’ve curated some of the best family-friendly events in Northwest Arkansas so you can soak up some fun this month before kids head back to school. Click on the name of any event below for more detailed information.
First Friday Bentonville
This month’s theme is Capital of Cool. Enjoy: Airplanes, Bikes, Bubbles, Tattoos, Flyovers, The Orbotron, Stilt walkers, Escape Room, and Tons of Games, and Live Music.

National Night Out
The Bentonville Police Department is hosting the 4th Annual National Night Out event which is open to the community. There will be food, drinks, games, music and vehicles on display. Bring your chairs and get to know the officers during this annual event. National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live.

Movie Night at Arvest Ballpark
Springdale Parks and Recreation presents free Movie Night at Arvest Ballpark, featuring the baseball classic, ‘Angels in the Outfield.’ Free popcorn, sno cones and water will be provided by The City Church NWA. Seating will be available in main concourse bowl of Arvest Ballpark (Suite seating will be closed and on-field seating will not be permitted).

TheatreSquared’s 20th Birthday Bash
Join TheatreSquared as they throw the ultimate 20th Birthday Bash—a free, family-friendly party celebrating two decades of unforgettable storytelling, creativity, and community. Free, but RSVPs are appreciated.

Time: 3-7 p.m.

SOAR NWA 2025
The 6th annual SOAR NWA event will offer something for everyone, including hot air balloon glows and tethered rides, a kid zone, circus performers, beer garden, live music, car exhibit and more. *Note: All hot air balloon events are wind and weather permitting.

Live! at Turnbow
Catch FREE concerts on the last Thursdays of April, June, August, and September at Turnbow Park in Springdale. Each show starts at 6:30 PM. Grab dinner from a nearby spot in the Outdoor Dining District and settle in for a great evening of music.

Washington County Fair
The Washington County Fair is the largest and most established county fair in Arkansas. Rides, animals, crafts, food, and more.

Sundays on the Square
Take a leisurely stroll through Fayetteville’s historic downtown square, exploring market booths, free concerts, and activations for all-ages during Fayetteville’s Sundays on the Square. August is all about BACK TO SCHOOL. On August 24, enjoy a pep rally led by the Razorback Athletics Spirit Squad with twirlers, mascots, and the band. Engage with local school representatives and learn about bus safety from Ozark Regional Transit. The music lineup, curated by University of Arkansas student-led record label Hill Records, features Lariat, along with crowd favorite, Maud Crawford. Don’t forget to bring your bike and slow roll with Bike Fayetteville.

Clothesline Fair
The annual Clothesline Fair will take place over Labor Day weekend and features vendors selling and demonstrating handmade crafts, and local children competing in a square dancing competition. Non-profit organizations operate food and drink concessions. Admission is free and parking is $5 per car.
