1. Teen Book Festival at Barnes & Noble, Friday, Saturday, Sunday {free}. This weekend, Barnes & Noble stores nationwide will host B-Fest™, a three-day event celebrating the best books for teens. There will be trivia, exclusives, giveaways (while supplies last), and more. Be the first to sample upcoming teen novels, take part in games, and discover great new reads. Follow along with the fun at #BFestBuzz.
At the Fayetteville store, the fun starts at 7 p.m. tonight (Friday, June 10th). They’ll have trivia, giveaways and more. On Saturday, the fun continues from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Sunday, several local authors will be teaching a writing workshop from 2-3 p.m.

2. Summer Reading Triathlon, Barnes & Noble {free}. Speaking of Barnes & Noble, while you’re there this summer sometime with your younger kids (grades 1-6), you might want to pick up a reading log so they can receive a free book. The kids just answer three questions on the log and they get to pick out a book.

3. The Junk Ranch, Friday and Saturday {see below for entry fees}. The Junk Ranch is open Friday and Saturday. You’ll find 250 booths filled with vintage, repurposed, salvage, boutique, rusty & chippy junk. Live music and food trucks. The ranch is located at 11195 Centerpoint Church Road in Prairie Grove, has become a pretty popular event around here. The schedule and prices:
- Friday, June 10th (Early Shopping Day): 12 – 8pm…… $10 Admission. This allows you to get a head start: one day of shopping before the doors open for general admission on Saturday. Early shopping tickets are good for free return entry on Saturday.
- Saturday, June 11th (General Admission): 9am – 5pm….. $5 Admission.
Parking is free. Admission for Kids 12 & Under is free.

4. Museum of Native American History Storytime, Saturday {Free}. Join the Museum Of Native American History for storytime on the second Saturday of the month at 10 am. Museum storytimes are geared towards preschoolers but great for all ages. Storytime features a Native American folk tale, animal stories, seasonal rhymes, activities and more! Free and open to the public.
The Museum of Native American History is located at 202 SW ‘O’ Street, Bentonville.

5. Apple Seeds’ Picnic on the Farm, Saturday {Fee info below}. Join Apple Seeds and Boulder Brands on Saturday, June 11th for Apple Seeds’ second annual Picnic on the Farm fundraiser. Picnickers can enjoy gourmet picnic baskets, drinks, local music and fun activities to entertain the kids. Proceeds go to Apple Seeds’ programs in the schools and on the Teaching Farm! Purchase your picnic basket in advance! 4-7 p.m.
- Picnic baskets are $15 per adult and $5 per child (includes admission)
- General admission is $5 per adult and free for children under 12 (bring your own picnic!)
The Teaching Farm is located at 1699 Hillcrest Ave next to Ozark Natural Foods. Parking available at the Evelyn Hills Shopping Center with a short walk to the farm.
