The Northwest Arkansas Naturals are stepping up to the plate for mental wellness awareness with a family event called Teal in the Park Night on May 7th.
This will be a special family event that the Ozark Guidance Auxiliary and Foundation Board are working hard to make memorable. Naturals team members will be wearing teal game jerseys to help promote mental wellness. Teal is associated with mental wellness at Ozark Guidance.
And this should be super cool: During the pregame ceremony, Ozark Guidance will release 500 monarch butterflies to commemorate Mental Health Month at 6:45 p.m. At 7, the Naturals will take on The Tulsa Drillers. For information about dedicating a butterfly — coupled with game tickets if you wish — visit Ozark Guidance’s website HERE.
“It is very unusual to have a professional baseball team wear an alternative game jerseys for a special cause and/or a local nonprofit. We are honored to have the Naturals as one of our Mental Wellness Partners,” said Jane Guyton.
The event is expected to draw over 5,000 people and is an easy way for you to help “to step up to the plate” for mental wellness! All the proceeds from the event will provide counseling services for children whose families cannot afford the cost of their treatment. Annually, Ozark Guidance provides mental health services for over 4,500 Northwest Arkansas children.
