Don’t forget that the NWA Boutique Show will be this Saturday and Gwen and Shannon will have a nwaMotherlode booth there! We’d love for you to stop by and see us — plus shop, of course!

167_echinacea_purpurea.jpgWe’ll have a GORGEOUS giveaway from Westwood Gardens for you to sign up for! Plus, we’ll have some of our t-shirts to give away, too.

If you’ve never visited Westwood, the mamas highly recommend it. We both shop there for our flowers every year. There’s a huge selection, they have four different locations (click here to go see store locations and hours) and, as their logo says, you just can’t find better plants! Neither of us have green thumbs and we manage to keep these flowers alive.

After you’ve shopped at the boutique show, there’s also the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas’ Touch a Truck Family Festival on Saturday.

The festival is from 10 a.m. 2 p.m., at John Q. Hammons Convention Center Parking Lot.

tat_logo.gifKids can climb, explore & discover their favorite things on wheels. A sample of highlights and activities: Big Rigs, Construction Equipment, Emergency Vehicles, Interactive Children’s Activities, Costumed Characters, Face Painting, Safety Demonstrations, Local Children’s Group Performances. The Touch a Truck event helps the Junior League of Northwest Arkansas support its mission and community projects such as Children’s House, Havenwood, Restoration Village and That’s My Bag project for foster children; while providing families the opportunity to learn about and explore trucks, construction vehicles and public safety equipment.

Tickets are $5 per person or $20 for a whole family.

On Friday night (April 16) there will be a Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction to benefit International Cesarean Awareness Network of NWA  at 6 p.m. at the Jones Center for Families, Generations room.

Tickets are $5 per person or $15 per family.

Do you know an artiste?

First Thursday Fayetteville is looking for artists to participate in a street side art walk program that will be held on the first Thursday of each month, April through November.

First Thursday Fayetteville is a monthly event held on the Downtown Fayetteville Square, celebrating original works of art.  Traditionally an inside event based out of the ddp gallery and Fayetteville Underground, First Thursday has recently expanded out on to East Avenue and the Town Center Plaza.

First Thursday Fayetteville features various works of art, live music, outdoor movies, and other cultural arts representations. This unique monthly event provides opportunities for artists and downtown merchants to connect and transform the entire downtown area into a cultural arts experience. The event is free and open to the public.

Artists will be selected through an open application process followed by a juried review. All genres of art will be considered with an emphasis on high quality presentations. All works must be original and completely created by the artist. Artists must be present and show their work throughout the entire event (5 p.m. to 8 p.m.). Artwork cannot include any graphic content such as nudity or violence.

To be considered, please apply online by April 20 at www.firstthursdayfayetteville.com/apply.html or email info@experiencefayetteville to request an application. For additional information, visit www.firstthursdayfayetteville.com or call the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau at 479-521-5776.
