The news about the big Toyota recall reminds us how important it is to be “in the know” about potentially dangerous products — for ourselves and for our kids. You can go to a website called www.Recalls.gov and sign up for an e-mail alert service that will send you an e-mail when recalls are issued by the government. You can get recall info on consumer products, motor vehicles, 
boats, food, medicine, cosmetics and environmental products. So if you miss an announcement on the televised news, you won’t have to worry because the info will be delivered to your inbox as well.
To sign up, click here or go to www.Recalls.gov and then click on “Sign up for e-mail.” Follow the instructions, which are quick and easy, and you’ll start receiving updates soon after. (I just received an e-mail yesterday with news about recalls for three children’s products.) You may be sent an e-mail asking you to confirm that you want to be on the list.
