Kite Day
Kite Day is a special event for the entire family. This event takes place at the local Siloam Springs airport on Hwy 59. FREE kite building supplies will be available or bring your own kites. Also, kids will enjoy inflatables. Everything is free and fun for all. No pre-registration needed.

Neighborhood & Creek Clean Up (Volunteer Opportunity)
A neighborhood clean up around the Yvonne Richardson Community Center (YRCC). They are located adjacent to a creek that feeds into the Beaver Watershed (our drinking source) so it is extra important that to keep the creek and neighborhood clean. If you want to help clean in the creek please wear closed-toe shoes, socks, and long pants for protection. EXTRA PERK: There will be pizza for volunteers after the clean up.

Technology Petting Zoo
Come celebrate National Library Week and check out what great technology the library has to offer. The Tech Petting Zoo will have various hands-on technology play stations with 3-D pens, ozbots, and more. This is a great opportunity to get acquainted with different STEAM devices that are available at the library and tap into the educational and fun benefits associated with STEAM play, like creative processing, critical thinking, and meaningful collaboration.

Hogeye Marathon and Relays
The 42nd Annual Hogeye Marathon & 21st Annual Half Marathon is a non-profit event benefiting area charities. The scenic course will not disappoint, taking in parts of Fayetteville and Johnson, starting and finishing in Downtown Springdale. New attractions are abound within the course- a car show, a “speed trap”, water tunnels, bands, drum lines. Kids’ Marathon too.

EARTH Theatre Festival at Botanical Garden of the Ozarks
Classic children’s tales come to life in the garden! Bring the kids and come enjoy this fun family festival at the Botanical Garden of the Ozarks.
The eARTh Theatre Festival will feature four family-friendly plays, performed by Arts Live Theatre actors and actresses throughout the garden. Each twenty-minute show will run four times, with a fifteen-minute break in between. Guests will be able to visit each stage to see all four plays and participate in Earth Day crafts throughout the evening. Food trucks will have snacks and drinks available for purchase.

Dogwood Walk 2018

Girls’ Day Out Mt. Kessler Hike
Calling all ladies. Join outfitters Morgan and Kristin as they set out to explore the great outdoors at Mount Kessler Regional Park in Fayetteville! No previous experience is needed, as all levels are welcome to attend. Please plan to meet on time at the Springdale store by 8:45 AM with your gear ready before heading to Mount Kessler at 9 AM. The hike will be approximately 4-5 miles, so you’ll need to bring water and any snacks or food for lunch you wish to eat.

Alpha Gal Encouragers Awareness Event
This community event will focus on the tick-borne syndrome Galactose-alpha-1, 3-galactose or “Alpha Gal Syndrome”. You’ll learn about what Alpha Gal is, how it’s transmitted, how individuals cope with the diagnosis and preventive measures that can help people avoid contracting it. Alpha Gal Syndrome is a tick-borne allergy that can cause delayed, and sometimes severe, allergic reactions to food products and medications containing mammal. People who have been bitten by a Lone-Star tick and have subsequently contracted AGS become allergic to common foods and products. This event will be open to the public, with informational booths to help educate visitors. Donations will be accepted and raffles are also planned to help raise funds for the Alpha Gal Encouragers – NW Arkansas support group.
