Give them an aspirin: Put a crushed aspirin in the water before adding the flowers, and don’t forget to change the vase water every few days.

Give them a penny: Put a copper penny and a cube of sugar in the vase water to keep your posies or other cut flowers looking fresh longer.

Give them a soda: Put about 1/4 cup of a soft drink (like Sprite or 7-up) in the water along with your fresh cut flowers.

Give them a spray: Stand about a foot away and use your hairspray on the underneath side of the petals and leaves.

Give them a stiff drink: Put a few drops of vodka in the vase water along with a teaspoon of sugar. The vodka helps control the growth of bacteria and the sugar helps nourish the flowers. Change the vase water every few days and refresh the vodka and sugar, too.
