January 2022: NWA Calendar of Events
Happy 2022, mamas! Here’s what’s going on around Northwest Arkansas in January.
First Day Hike: Prairie Grove Battlefield
Start your new year surrounded by the historic scenery of Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park. Join a park interpreter at the Battlefield trailhead, next to the Latta Barn, as we “walk back in time” along the 1-mile trail loop. Enjoy the natural world and learn more about the history of the Civil War and the battle that took place here. After the hike, gather around a campfire and burn away 2021 burdens and set new goals for 2022. “First Day Hikes” are part of a nationwide initiative at State Parks across the country to promote healthy lifestyles. Pets are welcome but must be on a leash. Remember to dress appropriately for the weather; wear sturdy, comfortable walking shoes, and bring water.
