Why We Love the NWA Boutique Show

The NWA Boutique Show is the area’s most popular holiday shopping event. You’ll find thousands of unique gifts from more than 185 carefully curated merchants, all under one roof. Most of them are women-owned small businesses from Northwest Arkansas and the surrounding region. It’s an easy way to knock out your holiday list while supporting local women and local businesses.
You’ll find:
- Boutique clothing and accessories
- Jewelry
- Game-day gear
- Home décor and holiday décor
- Gourmet treats
- Self-care goodies
- Art
- Toys and kids’ items
The show is timed to kick off the season before Black Friday, and the vibe is pure joy. It feels like an outing with all your besties, and you’ll almost certainly run into friends and neighbors between booths.
Cheers to 20 Years: A Show That Came Full Circle
For countless families, this show is a holiday tradition. Moms, daughters, sisters and friend groups come back year after year.
Twenty years in, the show has come full circle. Babies who once rode through the aisles in strollers are now grown, and some of them work at the show. Several college interns and staff members grew up attending every year. Some longtime staff members now work alongside daughters who are on staff, interning or volunteering.
The show began in 2006, during the recession. Founder K.C. Pummill, a merchant herself, started it with a small group of like-minded merchants. She wanted to give small business owners a way to stay afloat without the overhead of a traditional brick-and-mortar store.
It started as a simple home party, then grew into church buildings as interest grew. As demand from merchants and shoppers kept climbing, the show moved to larger regional venues. Today it’s held at the Rogers Convention Center at Embassy Suites (formerly the John Q. Hammons Center). K.C. runs the show with a small team that includes her sister, Julie Smith.
Today, the show draws 8,000 to 10,000 shoppers over a single weekend. For many small vendors, it’s their biggest revenue generator of the entire year. The show also gives back, donating tens of thousands of dollars to local charities, schools and nonprofits.
So moms! Go support….and have fun!
- Buy VIP or Girls Night Out tickets early. According to the show FAQ, these events usually sell out ahead of time, with only a very limited number of walk-in tickets.
- Know the kid and stroller rules. Kids 12 and under get in free during general admission, with no ticket needed. Just check in at the ticket table. During VIP and Girls Night Out, everyone needs a ticket except infants worn in carriers, and strollers, carts, wagons and rolling bags aren’t allowed.
- Use the shopping bag valet. You can drop your bags near the front desk and pick them up on your way out.
- Bring some cash. Most merchants take cards, but not all. There’s an ATM in the lobby, and cash is usually faster if you’re buying tickets at the door.
- Your ticket can live on your phone. Tickets can be printed or shown on your phone for scanning. If you lose your ticket link, email nwaboutiqueshow@gmail.com.
- Change of plans? VIP and Girls Night Out tickets can be refunded if you email the show before noon on the Thursday before the event.
Have fun! Buy stuff!
