Note from the mams: Congratulations to Emily Murillo and Sara Neufeld, who each won tickets to the Polar Express event!
The Holiday Hoopla Family Movie will be on Saturday, Dec. 20, and two moms will each win FOUR tickets!
This second annual event — for kids ages 3-12 and their families — is happening at the Victory Theater, 116 S. Second St., in downtown Rogers. Families will visit with Santa, then watch “The Polar Express” while enjoying cookies and cocoa. Kids are encouraged to wear their pajamas and we hear there are gifts involved as well. 🙂
Doors will open at 9 a.m. and the movie will start at 10 a.m.
This will be a fun Christmas memory for the kids — which is what prompted Keith Noble (from Keith Noble Insurance-Nationwide) to bring this event to Rogers. Keith is a Main Street Rogers board member.

The Barbie news studio – complete with anchor desk, spotlights, backdrop and cameras!
When I was a child I received Holiday Barbie every year. It was the best thing in the world to wake on Christmas morning and see the latest Barbie waiting for me. Make me long for those days and I only hope I can recreate similar memories for my children.
I was 14 and got my very own CD player and first CD – Boys To Men. I look at today’s digital age and how music is everywhere and easily accessible w/ iTunes, etc to kids and this gift reference makes me smile.
My favorite gift as a child is a ring my father gave me one Christmas. It has my birthstone in the shape of a heart. I was 11 when he gave it to me. He passed away 6 months after Christmas and I still have that ring to this day. It is more sentimental than anything but it was and still is my favorite gift of all time.
I got a precious moments Bible that I thought was AWESOME!
Commodore 64 personal computer! 🙂
My daybed and original Game Boy!
I was excited to get a Cabbage Patch doll when they first came out! Phoebe Claudia was her name 🙂
When I was 9 I received a Barbie town house and country camper. They were the best gifts ever! I was not nearly excited about the second baby sister that Santa brought two days later!!
When I was 7 I got a cabbage patch doll and that was the first year they came out. I was so happy, I knew I was the luckiest girl in the world.
When I was eight years old, I received a wooden dollhouse with hand made wooden furniture. It was definitely the best gift I received as a child. It was magical for me. I am 34 and I still own that dollhouse. My little girls are now playing with it.
My most memorable gift was probably my Barbie dollhouse. I vividly remember waking up in the middle of the night and playing with it for hours before everyone woke up.
A big barbie dollhouse
For some reason I always remember the giant stuffed Pink Panther
Fun, holiday giveaway! I vividly remember receiving a cabbage patch doll one year. I was SO excited!
I loved my set of LEGOS.
This event sounds awesome! One year, my mother gave me a 4-story Barbie house that she made and decorated, complete with handmade furniture for every room. A million times better than a cardboard dreamhouse. Best present ever!
One year my brother and I both got new bikes from Santa and it was the best present ever since we lived on our bikes. This year my daughter is getting her very first brand new bike. I hope she’s as excited as I was.
We got an Atari when I was still pretty young. I’d never seen games like that before and we loved playing Pac-Man and so many others.
My favorite gift as a child was the teddy bear I received on my first Christmas, I had that bear well into my twenties and would still have him if not for a puppy who tore him up. I loved that bear and he went everywhere with me.
I remember getting my first Cabbage Patch Kid. I was so excited! I even framed the adoption paper that it came with. It’s kinda funny when I think about the fact that I’ve adopted two children as an adult. The Cabbage Patch must have been my practice run, LOL.
My favorite gift was the easy bake oven.
The most memorable Christmas gift I ever received was actually 2 gifts on the same Christmas! My grandma and grandpa gave me a minnie mouse hand painted by my grandpa piggy bank and 5 months later he passed away. That same Christmas my momma got me a ring with 2 hearts on it and both of my brothers birthstones in the hearts! It meant alot because my brother had passed away at 4 months old! So the message with the ring said although we are far apart we are always near at heart! Makes me tear up still!
A Rainbow Bright Doll.
I got a new tricycle, and my grandpa had stomped around on the porch before leaving the bike outside. I truly believed Santa had come that year!
I didn’t celebrate Christmas as a child but my favorite gift I ever received was a pair of roller skates. Follow on Pinterest, Twitter and commented on Facebook. Also receive the newsletter.
When I was probably 10 years old I caught my Aunt making something on the ironing board. I loved her and always wanted to know what she was doing. She made me a dress that year. I loved it. She didn’t even see me, have me try it on or make me do anything to help her–she just gave it to me! And she got it right…I loved it! She had me in mind when she made it and I felt her love every time I wore it.
When I was little I loved baking. So, one Christmas I got an Easy Bake Oven. I thought it was the most amazing gift ever!
As a kid I remember getting a little yellow kitchen I was so cool. I made coffee for my mom and dad and I remember ordering pizza hut for Christmas dinner lol. Thank you for making me think back about that good memories.
Also added y’all to pint rest
I remember getting a baby doll that not only laughed and cried but it moved its arms and kicked its legs. Best baby doll ever…….still think of it every now and then lol
