Happy Monday, mamas! We’ve got a family 4-pack of tickets to a cool new show happening at the Walton Arts Center at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2016. The show is called Egg, and it’s perfect for kids ages 4 and up.
The show is part of the Artosphere Arkansas Arts + Nature Festival presented by Walton Arts Center. Click here to see all the other activities lined up for this year’s festival.
ABOUT THE SHOW: This one-of-a-kind show is a story about three birds and an egg. The simple storyline about the life cycle of newly hatched birds is told with the use of creative light, sound, music and props. The story explores the theme of “flying the nest” and it draws the audience in close to the lives of the bird characters in the nest, telling a story of friendships, wonder and tender loving care.
HOW TO ENTER: If you’d love to win a family 4-pack to one of these great Artosphere Shows, just click on the words “post a comment” below and tell us about one of the first things you learned after you “flew the nest.” (We figured out that our mothers were actually a LOT smarter than we ever gave them credit for when we were teenagers.)

I learned the value of budgeting!
that being an adult was not everything that I expected
I realized that being independent didn’t mean you couldn’t ask for help when you needed it!
That growing up wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be and that the adults that tried to teach me lessons I thought were stupid as a teenager were actually pretty smart!
I learned that others who’d also flown the nest (to college) needed and valued my friendship and help too, and that made me feel more useful as we journeyed delicately through the “search for purpose” time in our life.
That its ok to make mistakes. Just make sure you LEARN from them
That I don’t know it all! Haha. I learned that I took a lot of things for granted and it was better at home than I thought.
I learned a whole lot when I first flew the nest! The most important thing I learned was that my family was always there for me, no matter what!
As silly as it sounds, I learned that I didn’t have to eat whatever my mom said anymore. I never liked pork chops when I was a kid and still cooked them after I moved out on my own because “Mother said so!” I haven’t eaten a pork chop in nearly 25 years!!!!!
I learned to plan ahead:)
I learned how to balance my check book on my own and manage my own money :).
I learned my parents were much smarter than I thought they were!
I should have listened more to my momma!!
Life is tough…you can’t take everything and people for granted esp, your parents…they are irreplaceable!
I learned how awesome my Dad really is!!!
I learned that mom and dad had a hard job raising us kids and how grateful I was for their words of wisdom!
