Fayetteville Public Library’s Summer Reading Kick-off is Saturday, June 2!

Fayetteville Public Library will celebrate the start of its Summer Reading Club with a kickoff party Saturday, June 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library.

The event is free and open to the public.

The kickoff will feature live performances by School of Rock, Ballet Folklorico and a martial arts demonstration on the Rock Street stage throughout the event. In addition, there will be bounce houses, laser tag, airbrush tattoos, face painting, a photo booth, a food court, balloon animals and more.

“The kickoff party is our most celebrated bash of the year,” said David Johnson, executive director at Fayetteville Public Library. “We encourage everyone to come be a part of this fun, family-friendly event for the community.”

Summer Reading Club is the library’s largest event of the year. This year’s theme is “Libraries Rock.” In 2017, nearly 4,000 kids, teens and adults participated in the club, and nearly 22,000 people attended a summer program.
