Amanda Ware and her husband, Chad, are heading to see a stage full of drummers at the Walton Arts Center’s musical spectacular DRUMLine Live on Thursday, January 22nd at 7 p.m. She also won a gift certificate to help buy dinner at Jose’s Mexican Restaurant on Dickson St.
Amanda threw her name in the giveaway hat with this comment on nwaMotherlode: “We would love the excuse to have a much needed date night! It sounds like a blast! This website is so great!”
Thanks, Amanda! We think our readers are great!
The Wares have a 2-year-old son, Harry, and Amanda enjoys blogging about her little boy on the family website, Peace Love and Harryness. Amanda, a sixth grade teacher at Old High Middle School in Bentonville, said she and her family love attending events at the Walton Arts Center. However, lately, most of the shows they’ve attended have been particularly aimed at the toddler crowd.
“This is a huge treat for us,” she said. “We are in need of a date night. What parent is not in need of a date night? It will be great. Perfect.”
Enjoy your evening out, Chad and Amanda!
A little about the WAC show: DRUMLine Live brings the black marching band tradition to the theatrical stage for the first time. Featuring a large cast of performers from America’s top historically black colleges and universities, DRUMLine Live presents the rhythmic sounds of the great brass past, including Earth, Wind and Fire and Tower of Power, side by side with the hottest contemporary hip hop and R&B.
Rhythm, speed, precision, choreography, athleticism, steppers, dancers – this show will have you on your feet. Incorporating original compositions and soul-infused interpretations of Top 40 hits, group performances will range from choreographed routines to drum riffs and cadences.
Tickets range from $20 to $45 and can be purchased by calling the Walton Arts Center Box Office at 479-443-5600 or you can order them online by clicking here: www.waltonartscenter.org.
