Day three is finally here. Finally. If we can make it through today we’re golden.
Can we do it? I don’t know about you, but my favorite pasta recipe and supreme pizza were calling — loudly — on Day Two.
I was just a *tiny* bit grouchy, too. Or maybe more than a tiny bit.
Gwen had lots of motivation to continue through Day Two. She lost four pounds! I, however, gained two. I am dead serious. When I weighed myself I couldn’t believe the scale. Of course, my main motivation for this was not to lose a lot of weight, but to really “restart” my body for continued healthy eating.
Still, I have to admit I hoped to lose a few pounds. We’ll see what the last day brings.
Two SUPER good things came out of these past two “cleansing” days at the Magsam house. My daughter ate broccoli with dinner two nights in a row! She loves fruit, but veggies rarely pass her lips unless they’re pureed and camouflaged in a red spaghetti sauce. I was so pumped! She saw her dad and I eating it and decided to give it a try. Both of us are focusing on getting healthier right now and it’s clearly rubbing off on her. Hallelujah!
There was a downside, though: everybody’s broccoli had cheese sauce except mine. 🙁 The first night of the cleanse we all ate dinner together. The second night my husband didn’t want salmon and broccoli again, so he made something else for himself and the kiddo. My dinner took a little longer to throw together so I ended up eating alone.
As I sat there munching on my good-for-me food last night, I spied the salt shaker right beside my plate. Then I saw the bowl of cheesy goodness I’d mixed up for my daughter’s broccoli. I’ll admit that I had to shake the thought, “Who would know?” I didn’t have any witnesses, did I? But I didn’t do it. I knew I’d have to ‘fess up to Gwen and you other mamas out there and that was enough to keep me from adding a little a few extra “toppings”.
I’m surprised I haven’t had any caffeine withdrawal headaches. That was been amazing.
We can definitely do it one more day. We’ve come this far, right?! Cue Eye of the Tiger…
