I’m sure you have noticed that braids are in style this season, and if you saw me around this summer, you know that I embraced this trend in a BIG way.
A simple braid in the front of my hair took my usual disheveled hair from looking like I just rolled out of bed, to an intentional “deconstructed up-do”. My sister took my signature braid to a whole new level when finding creative ways to do her daughter’s thick, long hair, with a lot of help from a very creative mom at www.cutegirlshairstyles.com.
The Adopt a ‘Do blog is written by a mom of five with endless ideas and lots of hair to practice on. With four daughters, she has a great variety of hair lengths and ages to experiment with, including a couple of ideas for the mom’s, too. Some of my favorites:
The Single Front Twist: Great for anyone trying to grow out bangs on any length hair. This also looks cute when you pull your hair back into a ponytail or bun.
Flip Braided Heart: Love this, and your daughter will get endless compliments. It is great for Valentine’s Day or a special occasion. If I could make Lexi’s hair grow faster, I would just for this hair-do…I guess it’s not appropriate to get an extensions for a one year old, right?
Triple Twists into Twisty Buns: If you have to go straight from school to sports, this hairdo will keep your little athlete’s hair out of her face all day so she has a clear view of her opponents!
A Ponytail of Twists: When my niece wore this style to school she was stopped all day so people could ask how her mommy did her hair.
