Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! With the holidays finally here (and before Black Friday hits and I completely lose focus of the “Reason for the Season”) I thought I would make a list of a few things that I am grateful for this year.
In no particular order:
My navy-blue nail polish (Revlon Midnight Affair) because it makes me feel a little bit rock ‘n roll in my “wheels on the bus” world.
The ladies at Spoiled Salon who wax my wild eyebrows and the person who looked in the mirror one day and thought “I wonder how I would look if I ripped a bunch of my hair out”…Genius! They call eyebrow waxing a 10-minute facelift for a reason.
Juicy Couture Perfume because it smells so yummy and is the closest I will ever get to “couture”.
Maybelline Superstay 24hr Concealer for hiding what used to be my freckles and “beauty marks”, but my dermatologist now refers to as “age spots”. That’s just cruel!
My mom who once gave me the beauty advice: “You can’t cut your hair…It’s your identity!” (Although, she swears she never said that). She gave me the self-confidence to try new things (hot pink highlights, for one) and not worry that I would look stupid…even though I did!
My kids, who make me feel young, no matter what the mirror is telling me. It’s hard to feel your age while sitting on the floor playing Candyland and you’re pumped that you just drew the lollipop card.
This year, take a minute to be thankful for the little, superficial things, because sometimes when you have had a long night followed by a longer day, a spritz of your favorite perfume can really lift your spirits and help hide the fact that you didn’t get a chance to shower!
Have a great week,
Andi
