Northwest Arkansas back-to-school shopping for tax-free weekend

It’s almost time! The back-to-school shopping tax-free weekend in Arkansas begins early this Saturday, August 3, 2024 and extends through Sunday, August 4, 2024. It’s the only weekend when you won’t pay state or local taxes on items often needed for school.

Will it be crowded out there? Yes, it usually is. But there’s no denying that the savings can add up.

And if you don’t want to shop in the crowds, keep in mind that you’ll also get tax-free items if you shop online (if you ship to an Arkansas address).

Here’s the list of items that qualify for the back-to-school tax-free weekend:

• E-readers
• Cell phones
• School supplies
• Clothes
• Clothing accessories
• Shoes
