Things We’re Loving in February 2025

In the bitterly cold winter months, I’m loving anything that keeps my skin from drying up and blowing away. And I’ve learned the hard way that makeup does not play well with dry skin.

After reading a ton of reviews, I decided to try these two products, and so far, I’m LOVING how they work. As always, we aren’t getting compensated for these reviews. They’re just honest opinions about stuff we’re using and loving.

Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glo Dream Oil

I’m late to the face oil trend. I kept holding off because I was afraid it would be too oily or make me break out. But now I’m wishing I’d tried it sooner because it has helped the dry skin on my face SO much.

Some of the reviews I read before buying this oil said to put it on about a half hour before applying makeup, so that’s what I’ve been doing. The Superberry Hydrate + Glo Dream Oil (made by Youth to the People) comes in a glass bottle with a dropper, and I use about 4 to 5 drops once a day. I put the drops in my hand and then rub my hands together before pressing the oil into the skin all over my face, concentrating on the undereye area that shows more lines if it’s too dry.

I use the tool (reviewed below) to help press and roll the oil into my skin. You could probably skip this step, but I do it because the eye roller (which I keep in my freezer) feels SO nice on my skin in the morning and helps shrink any puffiness under my eyes.

What I love: There are three main things I love about this face oil — the lightweight feel, the light, clean scent, and the results.

It’s definitely not heavy or overly oily/greasy. It absorbs easily, as if it’s the drink of liquid my face has been thirsty for. I also appreciate the subtle, clean scent that’s not overpowering — just enough to feel like a treat.

But most of all, I love how this oil helps prep my skin for a smoother makeup application. Professional makeup artists always say that skin preparation is a huge factor in how your makeup looks, and now I know they were right all along.

Cost is $49. (Based on my experience so far, I think one bottle will last for most of a year.) Click on the product photo above is you’d like to read more consumer reviews of the Dream Oil.

Kitsch Mini Spa Rollers

Big things come in small packages, right? It turns out that it’s true for face rollers, too. I wanted a smaller version of my face roller to use on my undereye area. I found the Kitsch Mini Spa Rollers on Amazon and knew they’d be the perfect size.

What I love: I like how they come with a small pink drawstring bag, which I store them in before popping them into my freezer. After I use face oil, I grab the small ice roller and use it under my eyes and on my eyelids. It’s so refreshing and helps de-puff that area while also helping the face oil absorb into the skin prior to putting on makeup.

The only downside is that tiny little metal roller will warm up pretty quickly. When that happens, I switch to the other roller (the silicone, textured one) and use it to finish massaging my face and rolling the face oil into my skin. When I’m done, I put them back in the little storage bag and then back to the freezer they go until the next morning.

Cost is $15.99. (Because they’re well-built, I think these little rollers will last for years.)
