If you’re like most people, you probably fell in love with comedian Leanne Morgan through her stand-up special on Netflix a few years ago. Ever since then, we’ve all been hanging on her every word, spoken with that iconic Southern drawl. And now we get to read her memoir, too! It’s titled “What in the World?!” It published in September 2024.
I listened to the audio version of this novel on a road trip, and it made me feel like I had a really funny friend riding shotgun. I highly recommend the audiobook as a way to make a solo road trip feel so much more fun. I will say, however, that the audiobook doesn’t always sound exactly the way Leanne sounds when she’s performing stand-up on stage. It sounds a little bit more like she’s reading, versus the way she sounds on stage. But that’s okay because she IS reading the actual book, word for word. And I would’ve been devastated if this book was narrated by anyone else but the author herself. It’s her story, and I’m so glad she tells it in the audio version.
ALERT: Did you know that Leanne morgan is starring in her own sitcom that’s coming to Netflix on July 31, 2025? Mark your calendars, mamas! The name ofo the show is “Leanne.” Can’t wait to see it!
