Sometimes it’s the little things, right? When the small things you use or consume every day are especially good, you just enjoy the day a little more than you would if they weren’t.
So this edition of “What We’re Loving” is devoted to the small stuff. A couple of day-in, day-out things I’m loving lately.
First up, I found this cute little ceramic tray and canister combo at Target a few weeks ago, and I liked the look of it so much that I took a photo. Its official name is “Stoneware Kitchen Sink Caddy by Hearth & Hand with Magnolia: Glazed Utensil & Sponge Organizer.” (I think the color name is “sour cream.”) It’s in the section of Target that features all the Magnolia products in the Chip and Joanna Gaines. I wasn’t sure this caddy would fit at the front of my sink, so I decided to think about it before purchasing. But a week later, it was still on my mind, so I went back to buy it.
Now that it’s in my kitchen, I know it was the right decision. I didn’t realize it then, but the color of the ceramic is almost an identical match for the glazed subway tiles of my kitchen backsplash. I also like how the tray is large enough to hold two bottles — spray dish soap and a countertop spray. (You could also put a sponge there, if that’s your preference.) The canister part is plenty big enough for a couple of scrub brushes, too. It doesn’t call attention to itself, but it’s pretty, classic, streamlined, and keeps all the kitchen necessities corralled in one convenient spot. Love it!

Since we’re talking about kitchen stuff, we might as well talk about snacks. I love a good snack but often skip it because I was raised in a generation that thought snacking was bad for you. But I’ve since learned that there truly are a few healthy snacks out there that still satisfy the craving for something salty and crunchy that aren’t junk food.
Meet my new tiny friends — roasted chickpeas. They’re so small that you can eat 50 of them in a single serving. I first found this brand — Biena Chickpea Snacks — at a Walmart Supercenter, but you can also find them at Target and other places, too.
There are different flavor varieties, but I like the Sea Salt version best. Salty? Yes, but that’s what I love about it. They’re also super crunchy, and if you eat them one at a time and close your eyes, you can pretend they’re chips but so much better for you. Each serving has 6 grams of plant protein and 6 grams of fiber, so that’s a huge win for a snack food. I’m not usually a fan of chickpeas in hummus, but I do love them roasted like this. Hope you’ll like them, too.
