After repeatedly hearing about the viral show “Adolescence,” I finally sat down and watched the series on Netflix.
It’s such a compelling experience, and it’s disturbingly realistic. If you have kids or grandkids, I hope you watch it, too. If you have tweens or teens, I beg you to watch it with them so it can start a conversation we all need to be having with our kids.
It’s a much-needed reminder of just how unsafe your kid can be even when he’s only sitting in his room, looking at his computer.

This limited series is like a movie in 4 parts. Each episode is shot with only 1 take, so it feels like you’re standing in the room where all the action happens. You won’t be able to take your eyes off it.
Watching “Adolescence” is so important for moms of boys but equally important for moms of girls, too. Young girls and women need to know what warped thinking some of their male classmates might be consumed with and how that online influence can change their behavior in violent ways.

The article not only outlines why we should watch this show but also outlines some red flags to watch for that might indicate that your son or his friends might have been exposed to misogynist influence from the “manosphere.”
