Happy Monday, mamas! If you haven’t taken your little ones to see a show at Walton Arts Center yet, this might be the perfect show for kids who are new to the theatre. It’s called “Emily Brown and the Thing,” and we’re giving away FOUR tickets to the show at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, May 10, 2019. (Find out how to throw your name in the online hat to win the tickets by scrolling down!)
This is a story about a night when Emily Brown and her old grey rabbit Stanley hear a Thing crying outside their window. He just can’t get to sleep.
Emily Brown and Stanley set off on an incredible adventure to the Dark and Scary Wood, the Whirling Wastes and beyond to find the Thing’s cuddly, his bedtime milk and his medicine… But nothing seems to help him settle. What’s really troubling the Thing – and will anyone ever get to sleep?
You and your kids will find out what happens with Emily and “the Thing” when you see the musical, magical show, which is based on the children’s book by Cressida Cowell (who also wrote How to Train your Dragon) and Neal Layton.

Would love to take my 8 year old daughter for
Her first time at Walton Arts Center to see this play.
Pick me please😊
My daughter always says I’ve tried over and over to fall back to sleep and I just can’t! Then 3 seconds after she wakes me up she has no problem getting back to sleep. 😂😂
My kiddos mostly are scared to go to sleep at night because of the dark. If it’s storming outside that makes it even worse. And sometimes they have watched a cartoon or something that had something scary in it and it they can’t get it out of their mind so they have a hard time falling asleep.
