Most kids are out of school on Monday, January 19th to honor Martin Luther King’s birthday. If you need a warm, indoor activity to keep them entertained, you’ll be interested to know that Jumpzone in Bentonville (which is usually closed on Mondays) will be open on the 19th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for open play time. It’s a great way to let your kids burn off the extra energy they usually expend at school.
If you haven’t heard of Jumpzone, it’s an indoor play area filled with HUGE inflatable slides and climbing walls where kids can climb, slide and bounce to their heart’s delight while you sit peacefully nearby watching the action. If you’ve got a really little one, there is also a place suitable for small toddlers. My 2-year-old loves the huge inflatable Sesame Street. (Elmo, pictured right, welcomes her at the door.) This toddler area is age-restricted so you don’t have to worry about the bigger kids accidentally knocking down the little ones. Cost for open play time is $7 (plus tax) for ages 6 and up; $5 for ages 2 to 5; and free for kids under 2 with one paid admission. Parents are always free. Socks are required for kids to play.
In addition to the play time on the 19th, Jumpzone is also hosting a Kids Night Out event on February 13th, if you’d like to celebrate Valentine’s Day a tad early. The Kids Night Out is for kids ages 4 to 12, and the event is open from 5 to 9 p.m. There are only 35 spots available, so you need to call 479-202-4476 or visit the website to make a reservation (click here).
