Mother’s Day is a pretty big deal around here since we’re all about the mamas!

If you’re looking for some good ideas for things to do with your mom, MIL, or as a way to Treat Yo Self for Mother’s Day, here’s a fun list for inspiration:

Wednesday, May 10th: Mother’s Day Card Class, Local Color Studio

Alex Cogbill, artist and owner of Local Color Studio, will lead you through this how-to class with step by step instructions. Create a custom watercolor Mother’s Day card for any mother you love. $15 per person. All materials included. Registration required: alexbcogbill@gmail.com

Wednesday, May 10th: Farmington Public Library Mother’s Day Craft

There will be a drop-in craft program celebrating Mother’s Day. Kids are invited to create Mom a special reusable library tote bag.

Saturday & Sunday, May 13-14: Mother’s Day Celebration at Reagan Strawberry Farm.

Pick or buy 5 pounds of strawberries and get one pound for free at this event. Homemade strawberry lemonade will be served under the elm tree so mom can sip and relax. Last year’s event went so well, they’re bringing it back!

The farm opens Saturday May 13th at 8 a.m. and Sunday May 14th at 10 a.m.

Saturday, May 13: May We Fly Mother’s Day Art Class

May we flyMay We Fly’s is offering a May 13th “Market Day” art workshop for $30. It’s a perfect mom/daughter event. Mature kids are welcome.

Saturday, May 13th: Crystal Bridges’ 3rd Annual Garden Party

This event features free curated musical performances and interactive musical installations. Structures on the museum grounds will transform into playable musical instruments and will feature more than 30 musicians of the Artosphere Festival Orchestra along with local musicians in a series of site-specific, immersive performances. Noon to 4 p.m.

The music will take place at multiple locations outside the museum, accentuating the beauty of the natural outdoor environment. Other event highlights include a special native plant and seed sale, artmaking activities, nature and art talks, tasty refreshments by Eleven and local food trucks, and more.

Saturday, May 13th: Artosphere’s Trail Mix

If you like to get outside, this is a great event for enjoying the day with your family. The day kicks off with a bike decorating celebration at the Walton Arts Center West Avenue Parking Lot hosted by Community Creative Center. Bikers, walkers and hikers can head north to Lake Fayetteville to see some live music and move on to Shiloh Square in downtown Springdale for The Little Craft Show.

While in downtown Springdale kids won’t want to miss the hands-on bike decorating (9:00a – 12:30p) and the second annual Bike Parade (12:30p) led by Arts Center of the Ozarks. The fun continues at the Mercy Trailhead in Rogers, and then on to the final destination of Lawrence Plaza just off the Bentonville square. Squonk Opera will lead a special bike parade commemorating the Razorback Greenway’s second birthday, with speeches, celebration and more. Adding to the excitement, Saturday’s Trail Mix coincides with the annual Square-2-Square Bike Ride, which also takes place along the Greenway. Saturday, May 13th: Mom & Me Tea Party @ Imagine Studios

mom and me teaThis Mom & Me tea party is at Imagine Studios Too in Fayetteville. Each mother/daughter pair will paint a complete child’s tea set, including four sets of cups and saucers, a teapot, creamer, and sugar dish on a rectangle square tray. $42 per mom/daughter pair. Extra child, same tea set is an additional $10. Extra child, additional tea set is $38. All ages welcome. 10 a.m. to noon.

Saturday, May 13th: Spring 2017 Little Craft Show

Find some lovelies for your mom — or yourself — at The Little Craft Show. 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is a great indie craft show that started in 2011 as a fun, “little” event for the founders to sell their handmade products with close friends. It really took  off and now it’s known for the fun atmosphere, enthusiastic vendors, and high quality handmade goods. The show was ranked one of the top 8 craft shows in the nation by Country Living Magazine. Cool!

Sunday, May 14th: Artosphere’s Trail Mix

You’ll really want to follow Trail Mix to Walker Park in Fayetteville on Mother’s Day. Wander the trails and hear local and nationally recognized musicians performing live in an environment unique to Trail Mix. Then, beginning at 7 p.m., get ready for the outdoor spectacle of Squonk Opera’s CycleSonic! These giant, double-decker bike-stages that sprout bulb-horns, banners and whirligigs will envelop the audience with a joyful sound sustainably powered by the legs that pump out the chamber rock ruckus.

Sunday, May 14th: Mother’s Day Lunch Cruise on Beaver Lake

Hobbs State Park is offering a Mother’s Day lunch cruise, which includes a tasty lunch at Ventris Trails End Resort. Lunch: Salad, Parmesan Chicken, Ranch Potatoes, Green Beans, Sheet Cake, Tea & Coffee.  The vegetarian option is a portabella sandwich. (Alcoholic beverages are available at an additional charge.)

The cruise will be on Sunday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., leaving from Rocky Branch Marina. Cost is $40/person

Sunday, May 14th: Painting with a Twist Mother’s Day Class

Treat mom to a fun evening out on Mother’s Day from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Painting with a Twist in Bentonville. For ages 16 and up, $35 per painter. The theme of the painting is “Family Love Song”.
