Mamas, we know kids can get nervous and stressed on standardized test day. So, we love that our local McDonald’s restaurant owners have teamed up to offer them a free, healthy breakfast to help as they “Tackle Those Tests” on April 12, the first day of state assessment testing.

Students in third through eighth grade are invited into McDonald’s restaurants (with a parent or guardian, naturally!) to enjoy a hot breakfast between 6-9 a.m. that day. The offer is for dine-in only, but it’s an excellent opportunity to take a breath, hang out together for a bit and ease some fears while eating a special breakfast together. It can be a good bonding moment as the kids head into a week of testing.

And McDonald’s didn’t forget about teachers! Teachers (and other school district employees!) are also invited to take a beat and have a yummy breakfast the morning of April 12. Just bring your ID with you.

Kids in third through eighth grade, and school personnel, can choose between an Egg McMuffin® or Fruit & Maple Oatmeal to eat. To wash it down, they can select Low-Fat Milk, Honest Kids® Appley Ever After® Apple Juice Drink, or a small Minute Maid® Orange Juice. Everyone gets apple slices. Now that’s some healthy, test-taking fuel!

McDonald's Free Breakfast, Northwest Arkansas 2022

Michael Hadley, who owns seven local McDonald’s restaurants (his dad owns 10 in the area), said he’s proud that he and other Northwest Arkansas-area owners/operators are helping students and school personnel kick off testing week right.

Michael, a father of four, said McDonald’s owners are invested in building a brighter future for the people in their communities. Good food and education are a big part of reaching that goal. In addition to supporting local schools through events like “Tackle Those Tests,” McDonald’s offers college tuition assistance programs and business classes for employees.

Michael, whose four children range from sixth grade to a junior in high school, said he knows how stressful testing days can be – for kids and parents. He’s happy to help take the pressure off parents on April 12.

“Parents don’t need to be in charge of making a healthy breakfast on test day,” he said. “We’ll take care of it for them. I hope it’s a bonding time for everyone with less to worry about. Families can spend time together, and the kids can be reassured and motivated.”

Remember, mamas, this is a dine-in-only offer, and it doesn’t apply to mobile pay or delivery orders. We’ll leave you with a message from the famous Ronald McDonald to share with your kids 🙂

Happy breakfasting (and testing)!
