I think it depends on the child — and the scenario. I have a 9 1/2 year old and i would feel comfortable leaving him if he was home to run and pick up siblings from school if he has access to reach me.
Going out of town – or leaving him with his siblings, he’s not ready for that.
Yes, I think you’re right that the scenario definitely makes a difference. BUT I always worry that I might get in a fender bender while I’m out, or that the house might catch fire or a stranger might knock on the door, oh my! Just a little peek inside my head today 😉
