Remember back to the time BEFORE you had kids. You swore you’d never say or do certain things, right? This week on Magic 107.9 — every weekday at 7:45 a.m. — we’re talking about those big promises we made to ourselves before we had kids, but make a lot of sense to say or do now.
This morning we talked about how we swore we’d never use that worn-out phrase, “Because I SAID so!” Well, sometimes kids just need to acknowledge that mama’s a little older and wiser, so it’s an important phrase to keep in our tool kit.
Click the blue bar below to hear us talk through this issue during today’s Mamas on Magic segment on Magic 107.9, which aired at 7:45 a.m. Please tune in the rest of the week at 7:45 a.m. to hear about more things we swore we’d never say — or do! We bet you’ve said and done them, too 🙂
Because I said so! Oct. 15, 2012 Mamas on Magic 107.9
Lest you think we overuse the phrase, here are a few times when we try NOT to say ‘Because I said so’:
- When our child is genuinely curious about why we have a particular rule.
- When they haven’t had much control over the day’s events and we know they need to talk through why.
- When we really just don’t want to take the time to explain.
