The Jones Center is bringing back its free movie and music night series, Jones Center Cinema Plus.
Friday, July 22, is Soul Night, featuring live music by the Northwest Arkansas Jazz Society All-Stars Youth Ensemble and a feature film showing of Disney-Pixar’s animated film, Soul.
Beer, wine and food concessions – including BBQ plates provided by Secondhand Smoke BBQ – will be available for purchase.
The Cinema Plus series connects the community through film, food, and live entertainment. Held outdoors on The Jones Center’s plaza and great lawn, the series includes entertainment on stage, a children’s craft activity, and – once the sun goes down – a feature film on the big screen. All activities and entertainment are free.
Soul Night will kick off at 6:30 p.m. with lawn games and the kids craft activity, Create Your Own Jazz Inspired Art, followed by the Jazz All-Stars live on the outdoor stage at 7:30 p.m.
At 8:30 p.m., families can gather on blankets and lawn chairs for the feature showing of Soul, rated PG.
Friday, August 12, is In the Heights Night. Door open at 6:30 p.m. Live entertainment by the Son Sin Gnero Tropical Latin Band will start at 6:45 p.m. The feature film, In the Heights, live action musical (PG-13) will begin at 8:30 p.m.
The “Kids Creative Activity” will be making maracas.
The Jones Center is a state-of-the-art recreation, community, and event center in Springdale. It houses the region’s only year-round, indoor ice arena as well as a junior Olympic size lap pool, an activity pool, a basketball court, an indoor track, a fitness center with 75+ classes offered weekly, a newly-renovated conference center, and one of the largest bicycle pump tracks in North America – all situated on a 54-acre campus.
