Ready for a hot date? How about FREE tickets to see Cirque Éloize’s Nebbia at the Walton Arts Center and a fifty-dollar gift certificate to Bordinos Italian Restaurant before or after the show? Now that’s a Great Date! And you know you and your sweetie deserve one.
Most of you already know the shows at Walton Arts Center are fabulous. But if you’re a Bordinos virgin, let us fill you in on what you’ve been missing. The restaurant is just steps away from Walton Arts Center, and it’s got the kind of ambiance that lets you know you’re really on a nice date with a grown-up and not another pizza buffet with the kiddos. The restaurant has become a Dickson Street landmark, and the chefs love using locally grown, organic ingredients. They use fresh, natural meats and bake their bread daily with organic grains. Check out the photo of the chocolate martini. Are ya hungry yet? We thought so. (Click on the logo or the martini glass to see the Bordinos menu.)
How to enter: Just post a comment below about what you’d love about having a night out on the town with your sweetie — or send an e-mail to us at mamas@nwaMotherlode.com — and you’ll be in the running. We’ll choose a winner at random and the name will be announced on the site Friday morning. The show tickets are for Wednesday, March 25.
About the show: Meaning “fog” in Italian, Nebbia explores the world of dreams and things imaginary. This Cirque du Soleil style show is the third installment of their trilogy dedicated to the sky. Written and directed by Daniele Finzi Pasca in collaboration with his dance and theater company, Teatro Sunil, Nebbia will once again plunge audiences into a poetic and sensitive universe mixing acrobatics with theatre in a subtle way.
Performance times are Tuesday, March 24 at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m., Thursday, Mar. 26 at 7 pm, Friday, Mar. 27 at 8 p.m., Saturday, March 28 at 2 p.m. & 8 p.m., and Sunday, March 29 at 2 p.m and 7 p.m. Tickets range from $20-48 and can be purchased by calling the Walton Arts Center Box Office at 479.443.5600 or by visiting waltonartscenter.org.
In Nebbia, fog takes center stage and reality is transformed into dream. “When the sky is very low, we see things we don’t normally see. We travel in a world of memories, invented images, what we call dreams for the sake of convenience. To tell my tale of a childhood that is re-invented each time, I use geometries and the lucidity of acrobatic theatre danced on stage by an extraordinary group of performers,” says director Daniele Finzi Pasca who has also worked with Cirque du Soleil. Techniques used in the show include hand-to-hand, trapeze, aerial-strap, hoop, trampoline and the star, which is a suspended metal contraption in which the acrobats perform aerially. Theatre is melded perfectly with circus arts in this breath-taking show.
Éloize, pronounced El-Waz, is the name for flashes of heat lightning seen on the horizon in the Magdalen Islands. This serves as the inspiration for the troupe’s seven founding members, as this lightning symbolizes the heat and energy that feeds the troupe’s spirit. Founded in 1993, the company has presented its six original productions in more than 30 countries around the world and has taken part in numerous prestigious international festivals. In 2003, Cirque Éloize organized the first festival of circus arts in North America—”La Semaine des Arts du Cirque”—in the Magdalen Islands. Following Nomade, and Rain, Cirque Éloize completes the “sky trilogy,”with Nebbia, which is also co-produced with Teatro Sunil.
Founded in Lugano in 1983 by Daniele Finzi Pasca, Teatro Sunil has produced over 30 theater and dance performances in 26 countries. The core team includes Maria Bonzanigo, Daniele Finzi Pasca, Marco Finzi Pasca, Hugo Gargiulo, Dolores Heredia and Antonio Vergamini. The style of Teatro Sunil focuses on beauty, nostalgia and the invisible gesture. In addition to their collaboration with Cirque Éloize on the “Sky Trilogy”, Teatro Sunil has also performed with Cirque du Soleil and at the closing ceremonies for the 2006 Olympic Games in Turin.
At the crossroads where acrobatic theatre, modern circus and performance come together, Nebbia combines rhythm, acrobatic skills, circus acts and poetry in the same collaborative process that characterizes Cirque du Soleil. The result: a fast-paced tango of emotions, all set to an original musical score, and perfect for the entire family!

I think it would be awesome to have a real date night with my husband. It has been a very long time since we were able to get out and do anything like that without worrying about finances or just making the plans to go do it. He is about to start training for a new job and I think it would be so fun to have a date night out before he gets so busy with work.
I would love to have a date night w/my husband – it’s not often that we get to since we have two sweet children. The thing I enjoy is we can be “on a date” without having to make sure our kids are entertained…happy, etc. It can be about us!
A completely planned and paid for date night would be so fun and relaxing! Like a lot of other people, we have two young children and nights like these are few and far between!! I’ll sure keep my fingers crossed!!
I would love to be able to spend time with my husband, I have been working 50-60hrs a week for the last 3mo. This is a much needed break. Thank you so much for the opportunity and wonderful giveaway. Lost of Love for motherlode.com
Pick me!
Bordino’s is a great restaurant! I would LOVE to win this! Would love to see Nebbia too! I was at the Walton Arts Center last week watching THE MAGIC TREEHOUSE, so a grown up show would be fabulous! Thanks so much for the chance!
Hi Mamas. I would love some alone time with my husband. With three kids it is hard to come by. I know some deserving lady will enjoy this night! Good Luck to everyone.
This sounds like a fabulous date! My husband and I are both educators and this falls during our Spring Break, so we wouldn’t even have to worry about being out late on a “school night”!
I would love to have the tickets and meal to share with my hard working girls!
My husband and I are Bordino’s virgins and would love to have the opportunity to change that. 🙂 A night at the Walton Arts Center would be a great way to begin a weekend too!
Wow! A “grown up” restaurant AND a “grown up” show? It must be too good to be true!
We recently agreed (kinda) to try to spend some time together each week- minus the kids. Yeah right! I’ll believe it when I see it!
If we won these tickets, it would sure get us off to a good start!
Thanks for offering all these cool giveaways!
My husband and I do not make regular dates as we should, mostly due to finances so this would be a perfect evening out for us! We both LOVE Bordinos and always enjoy a great show at WAC!
I love Bordino’s and haven’t been in ages. Yum, yum!
Why do I need a date night????? Lets see 3 kids enough said!
I can’t begin to tell you how incredible it would be for my husband and I to win this giveaway! Our 5th anniversary is this weekend and, I just found out today, the money we were saving up to celebrate with will have to go to an auto repair instead. Needless to say, I am just broken-hearted… but, your post has given me new hope that we might still be able to celebrate our anniversary. Like the other commenters, we have two little kiddos at home, so we don’t have many opportunities to get out together. This would be a fantastic surprise to offer my husband, who never ceases to surprise me with love. Thank you!
i’ll throw my name in and cross my fingers! yummy, Bordino’s would be GOOO-OOOD!!
So, my reason is I never venture out of the “Rogers/Bentonville” area. It would be nice to do something out of the ordinary. I think my husband and I visit the same 2 restaurant’s every time we go out. I’ve heard GREAT things about Bordino’s…and something besides a generic movie would be AWESOME!
I would like to win a date night for the same reason of all these other mothers! 🙂 Although we LOVE our children dearly, it is SO nice to get away alone for a few hours!
Well, it’s been 8 months since my little guy was born, and I have NEVER left him. The farthest apart we’ve been is if I left him in the car with Daddy while running into the store for something. It’s not that I’m scared to leave him, either– I’ve got babysitters lined up for me– I just don’t have enough of a social life to make it worth my while to go out. The problem is, I don’t remember who I was 8 months ago… and a date night would be a nice opportunity to try and remember!
